Here are the ones they did on the HawkeyeReport Podcast last night. What are your thoughts?

1. The last two years, the leading receiver on the Iowa football team had 49 and 51 catches. This year is the leading receiver over or under 50 receptions? Bonus Question: Which player is it?

2. Last year, Iowa's leading tackler, Jake Gervase, had 89 tackles on the season. It's only the third time in the KF era that it's been under 100 tackles. Will the leading tackler in 2019 have over or under 100 tackles? Bonus Question: Which player is it?

3. A.J. Epenesa had 10.5 sacks last season. This year is Epenesa over or under 12.5 sacks?

4. The Iowa defense had 20 interceptions last year. This year is it over or under 20 interceptions?

5. The Iowa defense had 35 sacks last year. This year is it over or under 30 sacks?

6. Last season, Mekhi Sargent led Iowa with 745 rushing yards. This season, is it over or under 800 yards for Iowa's leading rusher? Bonus question: Which player is it?

7. Nate Stanley has thrown for 2,437 yards and 2,852 yards the last two seasons. This year, will Stanley be over or under 3,000 yards passing?

8. Nate Stanley has thrown for 52 touchdowns in his career. He needs 23 this year to set the all-time record held by Chuck Long. Is Stanley over or under 23 touchdown passes this season?

9. Last year, Iowa had 4 players leave early for the NFL Draft. This year, will it be over or under 2.5 players leave early for the NFL Draft?

10. Vegas has set Iowa's win total at 7.5 this season. Is Iowa over or under 7.5 wins in 2019?

1. Under bc I think the ball will be spread around to several targets. Leading receiver is Ragaini.
2. Over, Colbert.
3. Under because of how much attention he will get which will free up others for sacks. But still think he gets 11 or 12.
4. Under because I don't know if they have any true ball hawks in the secondary.
5. Over.
6. Yes. Toren Young.
7. Yes.
8. Over 23. In fact I am predicting a 30 TD season.
9. I will go with the under. I think obviously Epenesa, Wirfs and Jackson are the guys getting the early hype but Jackson and Wirfs aren't first round picks yet.
10. Over. I have them at 8 or 9 wins.

Tell that to angry Flick. He wants the numbers his way.
Lol I would bet an excessive amount of money on the over if the line included the bowl game. If this Hawkeye team went into the bowl at 7-5 (a direct result of a very difficult schedule), they would absolutely wipe whoever they play

I set it at 8.5 ...Vegas is clueless

Vegas doesn't include bowl games. In 20 years, Kirk has won 9 regular season games only 5 times. In the last 10 years, he's only done it twice. Vegas isn't clueless.

If your line is 8.5, I'm absolutely slamming the under. 8-4 is the Ferentz special.

1) Which has no influence at all on this year.
2) Your whole premise in point 1 is that 5 events in 20 years isn't very many, but then say being 8-4 in the regular season (which has only happened 4 times in 20 years) is his "special", meaning it happens frequently. Your logic has failed you. And hell, I even picked 8-4.

1. The last two years, the leading receiver on the Iowa football team had 49 and 51 catches. This year is the leading receiver over or under 50 receptions? Bonus Question: Which player is it?
Answer: Over-Oliver Martin if available, Smith-Marsette if Martin is denied.

2. Last year, Iowa's leading tackler, Jake Gervase, had 89 tackles on the season. It's only the third time in the KF era that it's been under 100 tackles. Will the leading tackler in 2019 have over or under 100 tackles? Bonus Question: Which player is it?
Answer: Over-Colbert

3. A.J. Epenesa had 10.5 sacks last season. This year is Epenesa over or under 12.5 sacks?
Answer: Over-13.5

4. The Iowa defense had 20 interceptions last year. This year is it over or under 20 interceptions?
Answer: Over-AJE and company will rush so many passes for a talented DB group.

5. The Iowa defense had 35 sacks last year. This year is it over or under 30 sacks?
Answer: Under-there will be more QB hurries though.

6. Last season, Mekhi Sargent led Iowa with 745 rushing yards. This season, is it over or under 800 yards for Iowa's leading rusher? Bonus question: Which player is it?
Answer: Over-Mekhi Sargent will exceed 1,000 yards; Toren Young will have more than 700 yards as well.

7. Nate Stanley has thrown for 2,437 yards and 2,852 yards the last two seasons. This year, will Stanley be over or under 3,000 yards passing?
Answer: Under-I think the running game gets going this year and Stanley doesn't need to throw as much to win games. I think he will be right around 2,500 yards to 2,700 yards.

8. Nate Stanley has thrown for 52 touchdowns in his career. He needs 23 this year to set the all-time record held by Chuck Long. Is Stanley over or under 23 touchdown passes this season?
Answer: Over-I'm thinking more than half of these TDs will come in the RedZone from Brandon Smith and the running backs.

9. Last year, Iowa had 4 players leave early for the NFL Draft. This year, will it be over or under 2.5 players leave early for the NFL Draft?
Answer: Over-AJE, Jackson, and Wirfs will all probably go but I wouldn't be surprised to see AJE or Wirfs play another year.

10. Vegas has set Iowa's win total at 7.5 this season. Is Iowa over or under 7.5 wins in 2019?
Answer: Over-I think Iowa gets 9 wins in the regular season then wins the bowl game to end at 10.

You're right. I should have said 7-5/8-4 is the norm. It's happened 7 of the last 9 years. The point was, 75% of the time, Kirk wins less than 9 regular season games. I would never bet on him winning more than that.

But I'm also just being a sadistic pessimist. I picked Iowa to be under .500 in 2015/16 so what the f**k do I know. Kirk can pull some magic out of his arse when no one expects it.

Interesting take on the LB numbers. The last time we really rotated guys at MIKE was when Pat and Jacody were competing back in '08. Otherwise, I cannot think of a time when we purposefully rotated guys at that spot. Last year we packaged things a little differently ... and Hockaday would come off when we used our dime package (and Welch would come on).

1. I'm very split ... I think that we'll have an O that can posses the crap out of the football. This will be attributable to both converting 3rd downs AND running the ball. Thus, the opportunity is for there to be more passing attempts than usual. But how will those targets get distributed?

Also, who gets the most? It's tempting to choose Ragaini ... but Tracy is an enticing target who will demand some snaps.

With Hockenson's departure ... his targets have to go somewhere ... so I suppose that I would have to say ...
OVER but not by much. (mid 50s ... to Brandon Smith)

2. Per my discourse earlier ... OVER (tackles acquired by whomever mans the MIKE spot ... most like Kristian Welch)

3. Being an every down defender will take its toll ... but I see Iowa's back 7 being strong enough in coverage to facilitate a good many coverage sacks.

Ultimately I'll go with PUSH ... (12.5 is in the right neighborhood for the good Mr. Epenesa)

4. In '15 we had 19 INTs, in '16 we had 9 INTs, in '17 we had 21 INTs, and in '18 we had 20 INTs. Here's the freaky thing ... over the last 9 games of the '18 season we averaged 2 INTs per game!

We're not quite as tall on the DL ... though it's not a huge margin. However, I figure that the height and length of guys like Nelson & Nelson impacted the throwing lanes. With better throwing lanes ... I figure fewer tipped balls ... and fewer picks. I think the number is around 15 or 16 this year.

5. My vibe is that the personnel is good for sacks. Probably in the low 30s ... maybe even higher!

OVER

6. Improved rushing game .... OVER. (probably yardage in the 900s by Sargent). Although I opted for Sargent ... I'm still in the camp that Ivory might surprise folks this season!

7. I think that passing yards probably stay pretty even ... probably around 2800 to 2900 yards. However, it will be complemented by better rushing numbers than last year.

8. CJ Beathard threw for around 17 TDs as a SR ... despite being surrounded by a pretty weak group of WRs. I see the situation being being much kinder for Stanley ... I see him keeping his average of around 26 TD passes (maybe better).

OVER

9. It all depends on how guys play ... how the season plays out (because that impacts exposure and perception). Ultimately, on the low end ... I see 2 guys leaving early. On the high end ... I could see as many as 4 guys leaving early. Splitting the difference ... that lands us at around 3 guys. So .....

OVER

10. I'm nothing if not consistent. I see things falling 9-3 ... with 8-4 being on the bottom end for the '19 Hawks. In '17 we had a weaker team overall (compared to '19) ... but played a tougher schedule ... and we still went 7-5 during the regular season. Consequently, I say ...

OVER

1 Under Ragaini
2 Over Colbert
3 Over
4 Under
5 Over
6 Over Sargent
7 Under
8 Over
9 Over
10 Over
