I don't see missing 10 free throws in the Penn State game as a big deal. Of course, Iowa could have used a few of those misses to obtain the win, but they shot 35. Hitting 25 of 35 is still respectable for most teams.
Truth be told, Iowa made a living at the free throw line tonight, and that's the only thing that kept them in the game.
According to ESPN....3 OF THEM!!! Yes only 10-11%!And how many were MGs
Agreed. Seemed like the last 5 minutes or so. We'd shoot 2 and hit 1 and then PSU would end up shooting 2 and hit 2.yes but how many of those Ft's were at a crucial time in the game. I counted at least 3 different times Iowa as at the line able to cut the deficit to 2 or 1 and they missed. PSU would rush down and shoot a 3 and the lead would go up to 4 or 5 then.
Everyone seems to want a team to shoot 70% from FT line.....71% tonight

57 freethrow attempts in a game is crazy.
Im all for the freedom of movement but over half those fouls had no effect on anything.
It ruined the game.
Even though we got to line a lot in 2nd half, I thought it was fools gold. All the fouls being called meant PSU ended up shooting FTs instead of having to make baskets. Iowa is mediocre FT shooting team and PSU, at least this game, was very good.
