An early look of the Hawkeyes-Hoosiers match up:

Top Running Backs are at Iowa ... two in B1G Top 5, none for IU (note one is a QB, who can barely throw it). Iowa's best defense against IU may be keeping the ball and running and ball control passing. Of course, Iowa needs to win the battle of explosive plays, generally, as well to win on the road, as well.

Two Hawkeyes are among Top 5 in B1G, after a 4-0 start.

It will be a typical chess match between Iowa-IU in Bloomington. Iowa has won 5 of last 6 ... with only loss at IU by awful 4-8 2012 team.

Indiana is 4-4 and 0-4 in B1G East. What are they a 4-8, 5-7 or do they win two or more games to close Big Ten. They were 4-8 last year and have one bowl game (2007), since 1993. Last five bowls were 1988, 1990, 1991 1993 and 2007. Last Big Ten title was 1967, like Minnesota. IU went to Rose.

Iowa just played Maryland, with Perry Hills. The Defense gets a different type of challenge this week. How much does the bye week help IU? Iowa has a game under their belt, coming off their bye week. IU senior QB Nate Sudfeld is 0-2 against Iowa, with two very ugly first half games.

If Iowa can get out of the blocks early and take the lead, this should be very good from a mental standpoint, based on Sudfeld's issues against Iowa. Does he throw an early INT or is there an early turnover?

IOWA has been forcing TOs against opponents. This will be an important stat and Iowa needs to remain a takeaway team on the path to a Big Ten West title. Offense, defense and special teams need to continue to dominate ...

Ohio State 4 10-13 76.9 7 5-2 3-4 0 0 2 0

They say defense wins championships. Iowa needs to dominate in the line of scrimmage in 2015. Last year, Iowa gave up far too many explosive plays on defense. Iowa's offense leads the Big Ten in explosive plays still?

Indiana is dead last in Total Defense and Scoring Defense in the Big Ten. They are better against the run, then the pass, but they are still worse than Ohio State in run defense.

By the way, they did play Ohio State tough; but, Ohio State hasn't been an elite defense in 2015. They have the offense to outscore opponents, but they give up more yardage than Iowa.

Iowa 31
Indiana 17

It is Week 2 (second time around). Like the Iowa State game, the Hawkeyes hit the road. Iowa State has a far better defense than Indiana. Iowa isn't healthy. C.J. Beathard can maybe make 70% of the throws and use 70% of the offense? Iowa is less effective on the edge, with maybe relying on two redshirt freshmen DEs?

However, Iowa is very balanced on offense, defense and with special teams. This is a team Iowa should take down.
