Iowa Is a 15.5 to 16 Point Underdog to Ohio State

I believe Iowa has lost a grand total of THREE home games over the past TEN seasons by >15 points, and there were some dismal seasons in there.

That is a HUGE spread, even against a team like Ohio St.

Most years I'd think we can cover that spread, but unfortunately this year's team can't seem to get out of it's own way more than one or two possessions per half, and we have too many three and outs. If we could control some clock and keep OSU off the field, it can be done, but that's been hard even against average defenses. Games like PSU where we were completely outplayed and somehow still had a great chance don't fall that way very often. But our first time QBs have had some success vs OSU over the years. Tate beat them, Vandy had them on the ropes in 2009, Stanzi did well in 2010, Rudock had a great first half in 2013 at the shoe using all our tight ends to get the lead for quite awhile, so a game plan can certainly be put together. It's always been the bend that finally breaks at the end that's done us in. We will likely know by the end of the second Iowa possession if we can hang in there or if it's another offensive night of futility.

Other than the ISU game, the most points anybody has scored against Iowa is 21, and that was Penn State and they needed a freak play to do it.

I'm not buying a blow out here by Ohio State at all I think Iowa keeps it pretty close just like against Penn State

Over/under is 66 which seems way too high to me. That of course means it will likely be over 66.

So, with a line of 16, Vegas is assuming a score of OSU 41, Iowa 24

I honestly don't see us putting up 24. Not sure if our D can hang with them if our offense doesn't sustain some drives.

Thinking more of a 30 or so point win. Iowa is a worse version of Nebraska. Totally buckeye beatdown.
LOL! We may get rolled by the Bucknuts, but Iowa is hardly a worse version of the bugeaters, this or the last several years. But keep telling your self that, and maybe whisper it in Urbans ear as well........

Ya, I think it's either:
a) Iowa wins a close one (OSU letdown and Iowa rises to the challenge)
b) Buckeyes win in a blow out. (Urban going for style points for CFP since they lost to OK)

Vegas is begging you to bet the Buckeyes with that number. So just a bit of advice......take the Hawks or just stay away from it and enjoy (hopefully) the game.

You must be stupid, don't understand football or haven't watched the Huskers play this year. Which one is it?
I've watched plenty. The BIG West is so boring though because every program outside of Wisconsin should quit football, so its a bit difficult to watch most games. Fortunately, similar to the Nebraska blowout, I'll only need to watch a small portion of this game, as it will be less competitive than the buckeyes spring game.

Ahhh, got it. You're the first one....stupid.

Agree Outside of the Penn St. loss (Penn St played a really bad game) and perhaps the Iowa State win the Hawkeye's don't have much to hang their hat on. I look for them to end up 4th or 5th in the west depending on the Purdue game. I thought they would contend with Wis. at the start of the year but have slipped considerably. It's going to be a while (if ever) till the West can even reach up and touch the East let alone win against them.

They will likely finish 3rd.
