Iowa v Tennesse in the 2019 Dance Rd 2. Great game (until OT). TC, Jbo, Weezy, Luka, Moss - really good stuff.

Down 23, down 13 with 10 minutes, down 4 with 57 seconds. Weezy splashes two FT's with 20 seconds to tie it.

We played horrible defense in the first half of that game. Literally the first highlight is Cook's man screening for a shooter and Cook just standing there. The next highlight is Moss gambling for a rebound, leading to a cheap layup that Bohannon could've prevented with a foul. Then Bohannon gets caught doubling the paint before the ball even arrives, leading to another easy 3.

3 fringe NBA players and a 3 point specialist on that team should've gone farther.

I remember being very upset at this game with our lack of defense. It's also the game that one of Tenn's main players asked not to go back into the game. Thought he wasn't playing well enough if I remember correctly

That game doesn't hurt as much as recent exits. Pushed a 2 seed to OT after a terrible first half with no D and amazing second half comeback. Just couldn't get the lead and ran out of gas in OT. So close.

This game however, was just as frustrating as the loss to Richmond IMO. Oregon was underseeded, but it went downhill fast in the second half.

Oregon lost their last game they played before Iowa by double digits and lost their next game after beating Iowa by double digits. Iowa suxed against them.
Just like they did against Richmond.

I thought we got oregons absolute best game, and with all the adrenaline of their first tourney game since their first round game got canceled.

Iowa also made a strategic blunder by not trying to slow the pace of the game. We all knew most of the year our Achilles heel was teams with quick guards and Oregon had that in spades. Just a bad matchup for us.

Last year we played uptemp due to our offense being so efficient, but it wasn’t like we ran non-stop, it didn’t match Gaza’s skill set as he wasn’t fast enough to pull that off. This year we were more uptempo because we had the guys who could run the court better.

I know it’s not how he likes to play, but forcing Oregon to play a half-court game would have been the best way to beat them.

Yep at least Iowa was in that game at the end. Didn't get the result we wanted obviously but at least Iowa made a game of it. So I felt good about that part of it, anyway.

Can't say that about other years.

Last time I remember Iowa being remotely competitive in a second round game before 2019? I guess maybe the 2001 game against Kentucky. Iowa started out hot but Kentucky ended up being a little bit too much to overcome that day. I remember Teyshaun Prince pulling 25 foot 3 pointers out of his arse with the shot clock expiring whenever Iowa tried to make a run at them.
