anyone??

I think the hawks win this one, it might not be pretty but I think they get over the "hump" and win this. They seem to play better on the road, than they do at home. I don't know why, but their shots fall and they seem to play with more intensity (outside of the PSU game). They just seem to bring it and play "team" ball. I don't know what it is, but they just look like a different team on the road, than they do at home.

Iowa 78
OSU 64

I look for Jok & clemmons to lead us tomorrow!

I think they right the ship. OSU has some athletes but rely too much on 1 on 1 ball. Iowa shoots 50% from 3 and wins by 9. Uthoff goes for 20 and 10 to get back on track!

I think that Iowa loses again. That is the trend and I don't go against trends. I also expect OSU to be favored.

I watch all the Ohio State games and thought they would be a tough game, even when Iowa was playing well. They play good defense around the basket because of their length and athletic ability. Not a high scoring team, turn the ball over a lot, and do not usually shoot free throws well. They do have a couple players that can have big nights offensively, though. If Iowa can keep their turnovers down, they can pull it out in a close one!

OSU is a very athletic team that is trending upward. They are going to be in uthoff and Jok's shorts all game and make other Iowa players hit open shots. Iowa's bench is shriveling up to pretty much nothing. I'm not optimistic. I think the game will be close as Iowa is too good to be blown out, but I think they lose something like 73-63.

honestly, it depends on if it's "first half Iowa" or "current Iowa". OSU will play tough and physical. Will we match the physicality and toughness or played scared? OSU being young and lacking any seniors is a positive for Iowa. This game to me is all about the mental approach taken by Iowa and whether or not they want to fight or wilt.

I was wrong on my last prediction but the Hawks are gonna win this one. They absolutely have to. Come on Hawks let's change the trend.

It's really simple. If the Iowa team that played Penn State and Wisconsin shows up tomorrow they will lose. If the Iowa team that went 8-1 in the first half of the season shows up they have a better than 80% chance of winning. Which team shows up?

Another loss. For those who think we play better on the road, this has not been true since mid January. Rutgers, Maryland, Indiana and finally PSU have each gotten worse. Fran has made no changes and this streak is on him for failing to make changes, fail to identify weaknesses and failure to execute the last four minutes. Might get lucky to beat IU, but then another loss at Michigan. End up as 5 seed in Indy, win one game there and fall to 4 seed in big dance. Might get lucky to win one game because the 13 seed will not be able to play physical but lose second game

I'd be happy to see 4 seed at Big Dance. Seems to me those 5-12 matchups send favorites home early too often.

Gesell quiets his critics and goes for 24 pts, 13 assists and combines with JU and PJ to form the HOLY TRINITY we've been desperate for...

IOWA 80
OSU 77

This is the first post I've seen where someone actually implicates the coach in what is going on with the team. It's about time. For some reason the participants on this board give Fran a total pass on his responsibility for how the team plays. Remember guys, he is the Head Coach and ultimately is responsible for how the team plays. He is totally incapable of doing anything with this team. If they play well he's lucky, if they play poorly, he stands by the bench with his arms folded looking angry but yet does nothing to make any adjustments. He might as well stay in the locker room for all the good he does once the game starts.

Tom Izzo and Matt Painter disagree

I have not watched an OSU game this year; however, if some of the posts in this thread can be believed concerning OSU's defense then Iowa loses 72-65 as Fran offers up his second half blank stare as Iowa loses a tough fought lead in the last 7 minutes and Mike and company (Minus the Beast Woodbury) panic and begin playing like freshman. Oh wait that was the Wisconsin game.

Your comment proves my point, Franny can do no wrong. All he has to do is be better than Lickliter. That's really saying a lot. Lickliter was the worst coach in Iowa basketball history. All you have to do is be better than him and you're content. Apparently you're not really interested in having an exceptional program, just one that's better than Lickliter's.

I've certainly been wrong in the past in my predictions on Iowa sports. But this year seems to have much more of a two years ago type vibe than a last year vibe to it. The team just seems to be trending down and it doesn't seem like there are any answers.

Interesting. I'll hand it to you for having the honesty and guts to say you've been wrong sometimes. So have I.

My gut feeling is we're going to win our last three. (But I'm just guessing as well)

Trend continues. Poor perimeter shooting dooms Hawks. Effort is there but can't get the shots to fall.
OSU athletes outmuscle Iowa to win 69-62.

After years of disappointment, I tend to be pessimistic on Hawkeye sports and this slide reminds me of 2014. Hope to be wrong, but I expect another loss

I think Uthoff has to take the team on his back...Woody can rebound, but somebody needs to make shots besides Jok.

If the refs allow all the physical contact of the Wisky game, I think we are in trouble.
