Chiapparelli had one hell of a match in the finals that year I believe. I watched that late scramble several times over the years and I'm still amazed how he didn't give up any points. Clutch performance!Damn, Rico was fun to watch.
He was my submission wrestling coach about 20 something years ago. Him and Zap. As much of freakish animal as he was on the mat, he is so friendly and easy going off the mat. Absolute hammer.Damn, Rico was fun to watch.
Lol. This is iptv giving Gibby the finger.Nice. As part of a message about the Gibbons documentary, I recently appealed to my state reps that IPTV make their wrestling content digital and available to the public. This, I’m taking full credit for this.
Great meet. Both teams very well coached. Brought back lots of great memories. Thank you for posting. The famous showdown profiled in a feature article by Sports Illustrated:

Thanks, Chief (& others who have helped). More than excited to watch the old matches. Lots of great memories.
Thought the same thing watching.I am so glad we have the current out-of-bounds rules in effect. That one rule change has made a dramatic improvement in my opinion.

Watching those old duals also reminded me how quick the whistles blew for stalemates and stalling back in those days. Holy cow, seemed like the ref might blow the whistle if you had a pinning chance but took longer than 6 seconds to get the pin.I am so glad we have the current out-of-bounds rules in effect. Hate to tell you, but I heard through the grapevine that it might be the second documentary in the series. The dual Lewis blew out his elbow and Lou was exhausted from almost winning by fall seven times and got caughtAs long as they don't add the 1980 meet where Osenbaugh laid on Lou Banach
