It is great to be an Iowa Wrestling fan.

Go Hawks!

They dont look to be competitive on paper but did have the upsets last night against Nebby. If Brennan Swafford wrestles he will have a tough go, but maybe meet is out of reach if DA upsets Schroeder and KY takes care of his business. Also looking forward to top 3 weights 84,97,Hwy, all those matches should be good. I think Hawks will be more than ready and Ayala, KY and Assad make big impressions.

Purdue is very tough - should be a tougher match up than minny

If Coleman wrestled and Kemmerer does not…

Purdue will be favored at 125, 157, 174, and 184 with a chance at 197.

I think Assad wins, but on paper it would be an upset.

I think 197 is a tossup.

Odds of Purdue winning all the competitive and tossup matches is slim, but possible.
Minnesota won both tossups.

Assad is ranked higher than Lyon (and Abe is way underrated at 18). Iowa is a big favorite at 33,41,49, 65 and hwt and should be favored at 84. We need those big favorites to show up and score some dang points!

Regardless of how MN wrestled I expect more than what we got from ADS, Jaydin and Bull.

If you are calling 125 and 157 tossups against MN then 149 was clearly a tossup as well.

Warner has done well vs Penola except the match Penola head butted him.

Purdue is undefeated this season through the first 3 weights.

I would be extremely surprised if Kemdawg wrestles on Sunday. He may have wrestled last night but he WILL be on a pitch count the rest of the way.
I concur. And though I loved that he was back on the mat, he didn't look all that comfortable at times. I'm not sure what the shoulder injury was but you can tell it's definitely on his mind while he's out there. I don't care if he wrestles again until B10s...whatever is best for a March run.

On InterMat and Flo rankings Assad is ranked higher than Lyons so not sure why Assad winning would be an upset. Like you, I think Assad wins it. Also, I think Kaleb wins at 157; he looked a lot better yesterday though I didn't understand his tactics in the 3rd period. Finally, I concur about 197. If Warner doesn't pick it up a notch Penola could very well beat him. And if that happens and if we can't count on Warner to beat top 10-15 guys, especially at CHA, our chances at NCAAs just went out the window. Warner is one of the guys who need to get it together. He can't afford another Yonger Bastida moment. Purdue will be a good challenge, and hopefully our hammers will perform a hell of a lot better than they did against MN. If Alex wants to maintain his "Bull" status he needs to get back to being the Bull. Just like Spencer always did at 125, Alex should have set the stage for a Symphony of Destruction when we started the dual at 165 Friday night. "You take a mortal man...And put him in control...Watch him become a god...Watch peoples heads a 'roll" That's what I wanted to see Friday and that's what I want to see today!! :)
