It is great to be an Iowa Wrestling fan.

Go Hawks!

#1 is PSU, Zack Ryder

Thanks for posting, Todd.

And of course it's fine for Hawk fans to like Gabe more than Ryder. it was just a one takedown match at Trials when they hit. That's the reason.

i think everyone on this board knows i love Gabe & fam.
Smalls, do you know if Brayden Thompson projects at 184 or 197 in college? He was #1 at 182 and moved up to 195. I was very impressed with him at Bill Ferrell.

Gabe had been maybe even top 10 at 1 point but had since fallen outside the top 20. He obviously could move back up. I'm guessing Block is in the 30s range.
Gabe just thumped a guy ranked ahead of him, right?

Yes, he beat two ranked above him in the 182 rankings. I don't know if either were top 20 pfp.
Flo's P4P rankings have Gabe at #14 currently. I am not sure how up to date they are or how they do their P4P. He is ranked 3rd at 182 (beating former 3&4 last weekend). However, the #2 at 182 is not in the top 30 P4P.

For reasons like that, I take Flo's rankings with a grain of salt. Lazy company imo that continues with the status quo in many aspects. i.e.:
- brackets structure (floarena could greatly improve as big brackets are a pain to navigate on a laptop screen and impossible on a phone)
- live user mat scoring (why aren't track and flo interface the same? - they are one company now, no?)
- the streaming issues that pile up likely due to lack of testing at each venue.

Feels like the with a good outside hire, a change in leaders may have them listen to the masses and help alleviate these issues and springboard them to a level that the sport deserves.

I think we found @smalls103 burner account!

Was wondering about Willie’s rankings. Wonder if he’s moving back up.

What is in the water at South East Polk that they have so many great athletes come from that school?

Idk if I’d be drinking the water there these days. Lots of quality kids leaving and transferring. And I’m hearing rumblings of something that could affect the Hawkeye Black and Gold in a huge way. Hoping it’s not true. But only time will tell

Hearing from multiple people that N Jesuroga is currently not wrestling nor practicing. No injury. Just currently burnt out and not looking good at this point of him being on the mat. Hoping a little time off will reignite the flame. Be a big loss if he’s not in Black and Gold next year.

We don't need him in the lineup per say next year but after that we will be needing a 125 more than likely. Coaches better be on top of the situation because there are some very good alternative 125 options out there like Lilledahl and Davino. Some elite younger guys like Bassett ect as well although harder to tell how big they will get.

Meh… I think it’s more long-con on ISU. They will be celebrating an impending victory and NJ will end up taking the mat and saving the day.

Curious who is leaving and transferring ? I love rumors just need more details??

I know these are old news:
Graff moved to wsr because he couldn't beat pearson or oberbrecklin..
Lewis moved to Bondurant (non state qualifier as of yet , good kid tough room)
Trout moved back to Knoxville with his dad...

Let me know of any current ones I am missing or didn't see when I was looking through the window

Sep reloaded and is back on top in the rankings ... and have a good young team

And Nate will be fine health is top of the priority list right now any one is a real friends would probably keep his name and private matters off a public posting board ...

Kael Cook is a talented freshman from Louisa Muscatine who is going to West Burlington Notre Dame. He took 2nd at AAU state last year.

Did I say the transfers were current?
The answer to that is no I didn’t. But they are transfers from last seasons team to this seasons team. And they are all varsity starters from last year. So definitely a hit to this years team because a 145 pound Trout and 152 pound Lewis are better than the current 145 and 152 by far.

And yes you’re correct SEP is on top of the rankings. No one’s arguing that. And reload is a fair assessment. Always lots of talent in the room. Always has been for at least the past 10 - 15 years. And yes it a pretty young team.

Your reasons for the three leaving are laughable though.
Can’t speak for Graff’s reasons for leaving. I do know he never truly settled in at SEP for one and sounded like a handful at times to deal with. But I can say he put up a good performance at Fargo and didn’t even get recognized by the school for that. But all the other kids did. Maybe that left a salty taste is his mouth. Maybe at that point it was already known he was leaving the school . I don’t know
Lewis leaving was due to coaching conflict issues at the end of last season from everything I’ve been told. And yes coming from pretty direct sources.
Trout of course had to move back to his dads to go to Knoxville. Pretty common sense there. But if you think for one second he just missed his dad enough to move back in and that was his reason for leaving then you’re foolish. Coach was the main issue.
And if you noticed I didn’t bring Jesuroga’s name into my original post. Not until other people mentioned him. And since you wanna be a troll you would clearly notice I’m wishing him well and hopeful he is back on the mat. But if he’s not I wish him the best in anything he does or chooses to do. There is plenty more to life than just wrestling. Nate will succeed in whatever he chooses to do.

FYI I love it that you just created a new profile just to comment on here. Better get some sleep and get ready for the Red Owens in the morning.
