Iowa remains #18 in the Coaches Poll

Seems about right. We played a good, ranked team on their home field in bad conditions, and played them right down to the wire.

It's about right I don't see any of those teams below Iowa as deserving to be above them. Lots of teams in the top-25 lost that's why we didn't fall.

This is more about all the other teams failing. So many of the others in that lower range of the rankings faltered that there weren't enough teams left to populate it.

Maybe it's like this every year and I just haven't noticed, but it seems like there are 5-6 terrific teams and about 30-40 that are completely interchangeable from week to week. Iowa keeps their position this week due to perfectly timed and positioned attrition.

#17 beat #18 by six. The game was ugly on both sides, so I would say the coaches got it right. On positive note, this is one of the few weeks where I haven't read on the forum that Iowa played a garbage team. LOL I'm not holding my breath, the week is still young. :)

What does bad conditions have to do with it? Penn st had to play in them too
Bad conditions favor the better scrambling QB, obviously McSorely. I think that’s why the Vegas spread went from -4 to -6.5. Maybe more to it.

I'd say there are 2 elite teams in college football right now. Alabama and Clemson. There are 4 or 5 more teams that could be considered very good (OSU, Mich, Georgia). After that, there is a lot of parity in the top 25 and maybe even the top 50.
