Bloomberg reports on focus groups of Iowa and New Hampshire Republicans who find Ben Carson appealing because he is “intelligent,” “measured,” and “calm.” Perhaps the most interesting tidbit: All Iowa participants agreed with Carson’s suggestion that he doesn’t want to see a Muslim president.

You may recall that diehard restrictionist Steve King predicted Carson’s comments about Islam would help him among Iowa Republicans. He may have been right!

Cigaretteman, where in the article on Carson did it say these were all Republicans that were part of the group. It also seems you are taking one quote from a person and assigning it to all Iowa Republicans.

"The focus groups were organized by independent polling firm Purple Strategies. Participants came from the Manchester, New Hampshire, and Des Moines, Iowa, areas and represented a variety of ages and socio-economic and educational backgrounds. They agreed to be quoted without their last names. Qualitative research results cannot be statistically analyzed or projected onto the broader population at large. As is customary, respondents were compensated for their participation."

On a side note I did find the Sanders article interesting. The part where Sanders states that the actual unemployment rate is 10% jumped out to me. Is this something that the Sanders supporters on here believe is true or do you think your guy is incorrect?

Carson didn't say anything about the groups. Why do you think that he should have? Bloomberg said that: Despite never holding elected office, or perhaps because of that fact, the retired neurosurgeon has managed to impress many Republican voters. Since they published the article and arranged for the focus groups they should know.

It is under my belief that the current President barely held public office in his own resume. He spent at least half of it running for President. He caught the attention of the DNC early on and used his very similar attributes to work his way up, with a little help from some friends. It's useless for the most part, as we have much more important and bigger agendas to converse about.

Under this theory, Rubio, Cruz, and Paul would likewise have barely any public experience.

I don't want to see a Muslim as president. Hell personally, I don't want to see anyone who takes religion to seriously be president. Mike Huckabee is too religious to be president for my tastes.
