Iowa Response to Dresser

Just an fyi, Dresser is going to be on flo radio tomorrow. Hopefully, he will be an idiot again.
I listened to CP and Willies whole podcast this morning. They seemed to side with Dresser... Which is fine but seemed a bit biased to me. I Don't even think they brought up the orange vag at all. It was an ok podcast but i feel like they may have been holding back a bit due to Kevin being on tommarrow morning. Hopefully they don't just kiss Kevin's ass tommarrow and ask him some real questions. Since I know Smalls and his side kick read the boards so here is a couple questions I would like to see you ask Kevin.
-As the head coach representing a major D-1 program do you regret using a slang term for for a woman's vagina to describe the head coach of Iowa on the air?

-If you encouraged VT to release the transfers to Iowa would a scheduled dual against the Hawks already have happened in the last 10 years?

-After the comments you made about the UofI and Tom Brands do you really think that was the best way to get a dual scheduled with the Hawks next year or the years to come on an open date?

-What are your expectations for the next time your coaching staffs meet at nationals? Business as usual?

FYI I thought it was funny how Smalls can't spit the words in his head out of his mouth without an awkward silence. CP knows him so well he jumps in and finishes Willie's sentences.

Our man WasDT is not big on the grammar so we have granted him a special HR exemption from the Grammar Nazi's among us.

On another note, I know we give you guys sh*t on the "just got into wrestling" bit but I have to admit, I have never seen anything like this on BWI:

VT fans were bitter at Brands when he left. He redshirted one of the best classes in the nation while letting VT flounder to a 1-16 record. Jim Weaver (AD) made a major financial commitment to the wresting program and Brands made commitments to our Athletic Dept. He knowingly red-shirted 5 guys in order to take them to Iowa with him when he found out Gable was going to hang it up and he would be in line for the job. He left VT's program in a shambles...we have not forgotten.

Going to have to wholeheartedly agree with you. I'm far from an English major but wasdt21 clearly was hungover or slept during his English classes. He is a diehard Hawk fan and I love that, but he appears like he is one eyeing it after a handle of moonshine when he posts.

I think all people are goofy in some way - some goofiness more detrimental than others.

I like that the Brands brothers know it and embrace it - few people do. They are insanely competitive and realize that it can look strange to "normal people", but it has made them what they are.

My favorite thing they've done is that charity swim race. That was about the funniest thing ever and spoke well of their personalities.

One of my favorite quotes is.......To be sane , in an insane world......you've gotta be a little crzay.

I'm curious to hear the pro-VT spin regarding the meeting between Jim Weaver and the eventual Iowa transfers and their parents when Weaver promised them that they'd be released without penalty if Brands left and they chose to transfer with him (which, of course, they would do). Multiple parents have sworn that this meeting took place. No doubt they should have insisted on having that pledge in writing, but we all know that Brands was the only reason they were at VT to begin with, and it's hard to imagine they wouldn't have wanted assurance that they'd be released if necessary.

I'm going to assume that the folks at VT weren't dense enough not to realize that Iowa was Brands' dream job. They had to have known he'd bolt for Iowa in a second if the job opened up. It shouldn't have come as the slightest surprise that he did so. And Tom, like virtually every D1 wrestling coach, redshirts his guys their first year. He almost certainly would have redshirted them had they been at Iowa that first year, too. It's not as if he was taking some kind of atypical action and intentionally depriving VT of those recruits' true freshman year in the varsity lineup. I can't imagine and don't believe that he could have known that the Iowa job was his before that season even began, but even if that were the case, to quote a current presidential candidate, "What difference does it make?" He would have redshirted those guys that season in any case.

I think it's pretty clear that the party guilty of wrongdoing in this case was Weaver. He knew what was coming. It was a matter of time until Brands left, barring a surprising turnaround under Zalesky. He should have known what he was getting into. And when the inevitable happened, he broke his promise to those kids and their parents and took out his bitterness on a bunch of teenagers by stealing a year of competition from them. Shameful.

Agreed. It irks me that people think Brands should let go of his grudge(if he even has one) about something that happened 10 years ago, but they are okay with a D1 coach acting like a petulant child on a radio show. Losing 1 year of wrestling is a huge deal, especially when you are only given a 5 year period to compete. I don't think I would ever get over it. People who say Brands should forgive VT need to get out of their glass house once in a while.

And don't forget.......because everyone knows.....Brands NEVER EVER redshirts anyone. EVER>>>>>>>>>>
