The time for Iowa to make a run at Altman would have been after Alford left and Iowa hired Lickliter. By 2010, Iowa hoops was a dumpster fire and Altman had many better suitors.

If I remember right, the Arkansas fan base was less than thrilled about the hire - or so I thought I heard. Than Altman backed out. Not sure if it was because of the backlash or some other reason, though.
