Iowa should just pull the Fant offer

I agree that if the kid doesn't want to compete for his position...that is a big issue.
However I think its funny that people saying that, don't think iowa should have to compete with other schools...

I am not saying Iowa shouldn't have to compete, but Fant going on 1620 the zone to announce his commitment, going on 1620 again to say he is not 100% firm, etc....

Too much drama.

Here is my guess if Farinok and Jackson both say they are committing tomorrow that will be it and he will be out of the picture.

Patience grasshopper....give Noah his space. Commitment gets tossed around here a lot, maybe he feels the same by giving Minny his that he'd at least come visit. I like the kid enough to give him some slack on this issue. Gut feel we land all three in the end....Farniok, Jackson and Fant (yes, we have room) in spite of all the drama.

Wow! some of you act like you actually have some inside information on this situation or as if this was the first time you have ever been exposed or followed recruiting. Probably the same group that will be overly ecstatic if Fant decides to come to Iowa. Fant is an 18 year old kid, I am in my 30's and still make mistakes and do dumb things, wish we were all as perfect as some of you....I think the best thing is to relax and let it play out. Furthermore, I am not seeing all the "drama"???? His interview was pretty low key and his answers were thought out and seemed very well spoken

One thing is for sure ... the University of Iowa football team will STILL exist - EVEN - if Mr. Fant decides to spend the next four years someplace other than Iowa City ...

I don't think Kirk has or will pull his scholly offer. What should happen is, if they get other commitments and his spot is needed to give to someone else, well then he is out of luck. It sounds like he knew after committing that if you take other visits that you may be left out. His best bet was to not commit and just say he is continuing to look at other offers and take visits.

I am guessing that Kirk told him something similar to this last weekend. In other words, "Your commitment is not firm and neither is ours" If both Jackson and Farinok commit, I am thinking they will be accepted and Fant will be put on waiting list (and probably sign elsewhere).

Not to point out the obvious but way different circumstances.
Maybe slightly, but Ross P grew up a Hawkeye fan (Like AJ), committed early (Like AJ), was a 4-5 star recruit (like AJ), was committed to Iowa for a long period of time (book is still out with AJ)......only difference is AJ's dad played at Iowa and AJ is an out of stater while Ross P was an in state kid, Ross P was offensive lineman and AJ is DE (so with all that it is kind of a wash on the differences) I am not saying AJ will decommitt or anything like that, but we have over 12 months before this is a done deal. Maybe the circumstances you are talking about are the on the field success, but we do still have a season of football to play before next February too (which I am very optimistic about, then again I always am). As I said I am not trying to be a debbie downer here, I was just pointing out things can happen

One has all the big offers them committed the other committed then Alabama came calling - big difference.
