Iowa State Men's Basketball

😂Yeah, like I said.....consolation prizes, dumbass.

If the Hawkeyes win the B1G tournament this year the fans will go absolutely crazy, if they win it 4 times in 6 years half the fan base would call for Fran to get a lifetime contract.

I’d tell you to stop acting like a complete imbecile but it’s obviously not an act at this point. I actually feel sorry for the people in your life that have to listen to your short bus analysis with no option of logging off.

Ol’ ChiDoc on an Iowa message board sucking off ISU basketball.

ONE New Years Six bowl win in the last SEVEN years?!?!?! Ouch...

So even pathetic Iowa State football has the same number in that span as the entire division? Wow... That’s truly pathetic and actually sad.

I guess it‘s true when they say even Kim Kardashian could pass the bar. I had always assumed that was hyperbole.

Is this CyTwins?

I think it's realistic to think there are high school teams out there that would beat ISU by 20 points.

Can you imagine being Pollard and having to excuse away this shitshow? Years ago, he had to defend a putrid football program. Now it's the basketball program. Likely in two years, it'll be a shitty football team again.

Pollard is just lucky most Clone fans are ignorant.

I hate ISU as much as the next guy but, no, the best HS team in the country wouldn’t hang with ISU.

This year's team and coaching staff have given up. It's not out of the question.

Imagine the exodus in the off season. Pollard can't afford to fire Prohm.

Good times in Ames.

I think Prohm has to be gone. The real question is who can they get? Porter Moser already said no (he can always reconsider). I am sure ISU fans will think they can get about anyone but ISU basketball is simply not attractive. And no coach besides Campbell (because he calls the shots) wants to work with Pollard. Both Hoiberg and Cael could not leave fast enough. Pollard is nothing but a politician and he knows all his constituents care about is Iowa which is why he does the billboards and the “bear,” etc. One of my best friends is an ISU guy and I like to raise the “bear” and I think ISU is what 4-19 against the Hawks recently. Which doesn’t include this year football (would have been close) and wrestling (an ass kicking).

Look at it this way.

ISU had a top 10 team, insane fan support and was the top show in town because football sucked the last time their basketball HC was open. The best they could do was to hire the coach from Murray State.

Now, they have one of the worst major conference rosters in history and have a football program that is in much better shape than the basketball program who Pollard has to worry about paying Campbell and his staff in an effort to keep them around.

The Clone fans thinking Matta or Beilein are coming to Ames are delusional. The ones thinking Craig Smith, Mark Pope or DeVries would take that job are slightly less delusional.

If Prohm is gone, I really think Fred returning could be a legit possibility Somehow the massive $ to ISU would be compensated by overwhelming and long lasting fan support of his return anyway.

Try actually reading the posts I responded to. It was ridiculously dumb to say a team that won 4 in 6 accomplished nothing and it was only due to a weak conference when they beat Kansas multiple times. Iowa fans who play this card are absolute morons considering The B1G West is undisputedly on a very short list for the worst division in all of NCAA football. I guess from your posting history it’s not surprising you find the arguments I replied to in this thread compelling. Most people with an IQ over 80 see this for what it is...

This is a basketball forum.... say it slowly with me, baaaasket.... baaaaaall

Sweet argument bro.

This is an Iowa State team that lost to a Kansas State team at Hilton, exactly one week after said KSU team lost to Fort Hayes State by 13.
Both have vastly improved, without question, but yikes.
I think Prohm stays at least another year.

I will be surprised if any decent players don't transfer out after the season... whether Prohm stays or not. I'm guessing the incoming recruits will look for a way out.

Then you have poor Foster, who should have known better. Big 12 MBB isn't bad. Not B1G level, but not bad. ISU has become a coaching nightmare because of how big of a rebuild it will be. I think we're seeing that at Nebraska... where everyone thought Hoiberg could turn it around in 2 years.

I feel just a tad bit sorry for Clone fans. They get milked for donations from the AD and aren't bright enough to realize the bigger picture.

ISU fans are lucky Covid happened because Hilton would have been a morgue, as it is.

No more #Magic. :D :D :D :D :D :D

I dont feel bad for them at all.

If there is a basketball fan base that deserves back to back 20 loss seasons more than ISU, I don't know who it would be.

OMGosh, the embarrassment!
First, the score & secondly, the opponent's total disrespect to actually suit up a team mgr & then he immediately takes a charge from an isu varsity player. All for the TV & l presume radio audiences consumption!
I wonder if this comes up during recruiting battles....ya think.

Makes me laugh when I'm having a bad day. Thank you Promwich and clowns for endless entertainment. Promwich makes Lickliter look like a grand master at chess in terms of strategy. Keep up the good work.

Iowa State went 2-22 last year and their top 5 returning starters all transferred out of Ames.

At its essence, Cy World really is just a cheap carnival or clown show. They're down and out. Given the possibility they will playing in what can no longer even be considered a P5 conference, instead of just the worst team in the worst P5 conference, you're going to see rats jumping.

looked up my own question.

last 20 years 4 b12 teams in the finals to 8 b10

2 teams have made the finals in that time span from b12 and 6 from the b10.

Not hard to determine the better conf

Yeah, I don’t think anyone would dispute KU is both the best team in either conference all-time AND in the last 20 years … but how could anyone argue the next tier isn’t stocked with Big Ten teams? Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Wisconsin have all made the NC Game in that time frame, with all but Indiana making it past the Sweet Sixteen like 4+ times in that timeframe, too. Tourney can be a crapshoot, but here are the No. 1 Seeds in that timeframe, something that clearly represents an elite regular season team:

Kansas - 9 (2002, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018)
Illinois - 3 (2001, 2005, 2021)
Michigan State - 3 (2000, 2001, 2012)
Ohio State - 2 (2007, 2011)
Baylor - 1 (2021)
Michigan - 1 (2021)
Wisconsin - 1 (2015)
Indiana - 1 (2013)
Oklahoma - 1 (2003)
Texas - 1 (2003)

12 for the Big XII and 11 for the Big Ten … but KU has NINE of the Big XII’s. Without them and without either of our top two (ILL and MSU with 3), we still beat them, lol. Even if you want to argue KU alone makes the Big XII the “better league,” it’s no question which league has had more good teams.

Not going to lie, just watching people play with energy and play hard was borderline erotic last night. Feels like it's been forever since I've seen it. Gonna lose a lot this year, but if they can keep their heads up and keep playing this hard I think ISU fans will be happy this year.

Clown fans show off their basketball IQ by mockIng Iowa for giving the Murray Twins scholarships.

Almost a laughable as CyTwit saying isu’s best football team is better than any team Hayden had. For some odd reason I don’t recall Hayden’s teams ever having the luxury of playing a 4 win team in a bowl game but I am sure clown fans will tell us how it really is.

Outside of the sun rising in the east, the most predictable thing in life is that clown fans are going to clown.

That's a pretty high bar

Well, Prohm took the bar for ISU MBB, rented an excavator, dug a massive hole, went so deep in that hole the the program got the bends and perished, and left that bar down there. I agree it's not a hard bar to clear. But I've watched every game of ISU basketball the last two years and literally that is the most energy, intensity, and best ball movement I've seen in that time by a mile.
