I’d much rather see Iowa as the 2 seed in the West.

Iowa would probably have a bigger crowd if they made the sweet 16 in the West than the Midwest bracket.

The Midwest Regional is a short drive to Minneapolis for Iowa fans. And there are a lot of Iowa fans in the Twin Cities area. Why would you want Iowa in the West?

There’s probably more Iowa fans in Denver/Colorado than Minneapolis.

I could see Hawk fans not attending in Minn because of cost or just decide to watch it at home.

No Hawk fan within 200 miles of Denver would miss the rare opportunity to see the Hawks play in Denver.

And there’s thousands upon thousands out here.

Seems like all the sites would suck for Iowa, until Minneapolis or Denver.

Minneapolis is a 2 and a half hour drive for me. But southern regional in Memphis would be fine. Any regional but east.

I would be interested in seeing stats on number of alumni from Iowa in Denver vs Minneapolis

Most of the Hawkeyes games I make it to are at Williams Arena because I am straight south of the cities and barely still in Iowa.
I've driven to Minneapolis three times to see the Hawks play and would totally drive to see them play in the NCAA in Minny this year. I doubt I would druve 14 hours to go see them play in Denver.

Remember when 25,000-30,000 made their way to the Metrodome for the final conference game in 2002?

Imagine what it would be like for a Regional, where Iowa has its best team in 14 years and would be attempting to advance to the Final Four for the 1st time in 41 years.

1986 and 1991 both had a great turnout of hawkeye fans for the first rounds of the NCAA basketball tournament. Two point loss in first round to NC State in 86. 2nd round blowout loss to Duke in 1991. ISU was also there in 86.

Denver more than Minny? I would doubt that. Besides Chicago, Minny would be very high up the list of alum and fans.

If Iowa would happen to win the Big Ten I doubt they'd be a 2 seed, the Big Ten Conference is going to good again next year and if Iowa loses 4 games or less in conference they will be a 1 seed, especially if they win the Big Ten Tournament in Chicago...
