At tonight's I-Club event, Kirk Ferentz indicated that Iowa will play a Friday night road game against a Big Ten opponent this fall. He did not specify which game it would be.
Iowa's Big Ten road games this fall:
9/21 at Minnesota
10/5 at Ohio State
10/19 at Michigan State
11/9 at UCLA
11/23 at Maryland
It seems very very unlikely that the OSU game would be moved to Friday night. The other four games seem plausible to varying degrees.
My guess would be one of the Minnesota or Maryland games being moved to Friday night.
Both teams have experience hosting non-Saturday home games. In fact, Iowa's last trip out to Maryland (in 2021) ended up being a Friday night game. Iowa won that game 51-14 -- Spencer Petras threw for 259 yards and 3 TD and the defense had six (!) interceptions.
