Is it possible Iowa goes to the Rose Bowl even if it loses to Michigan? Assume Oregon beats Utah in the Pac-12 Championship and Iowa loses a close game to Michigan. Normally, if the B10 champion plays in the CFP (which would happen with a Michigan win in the B10 Championship), the Rose Bowl Committee selects the next highest ranked team from the conference to play in Pasadena which will likely be Ohio State.
