Defeated Maryland 3-2 yesterday, which gives them the most conference wins they have had since 2008.

They are 14-16 now 6-13 in the B1G

She surly committed before Bond. Certainly can't blame her for not signing with Iowa.
Here's hoping we beat her a couple times while she's there! :)

Yes, she committed before Bond was hired.
Absolutely great young women and great family too!
Shame she won't be in a Hawkeye uniform, but still, will root for her almost always, except for 2 games a year.

Sounds like there's another transfer coming in from U Tennessee - 4th in kills on last year's team.
It's a bit of a shame to turnaround a program this way -- via transfers.

Returning players see their expected playing time disappear, and it obviously hurts the teams losing the transfer.
But it's sorta the way things are done in non-revenue sports I suppose. It makes me fear/think that coaches are 'recruiting' players on other teams, which is pretty shady.

Other volleyball teams have been doing it for years. I suppose if it's the way things are done, at least Iowa is now getting in on the act!

The bottom line is we want to win games. If the returning players want more playing time they can either get better or transfer. Get as many talented players into the program as possible.

Don't mean to be hard on all the Hawks who gave their best over the years, but the program obviously has needed a major talent upgrade for some time, as well as a size upgrade. Very few 5'9' outside hitters and 6'0" middle blockers on NCAA tournament teams. And it's not really a good thing when your libero is setting school records for digs.

This.
Bond had to play the hand dealt him when he got here late in the process. He and the Hawks actually performed VERY well with what they had. Now, time to get some horses in the stable.
I am happy that these transfers are now WANTING to come to Iowa! Hasn't really been that way in the past!
