Illinois -9.5
O/U 171.5

Iowa Hawkeyes (15-12, 6-10 Big Ten) hit the road after squeezing by Washington. Iowa is hanging on for their BTT lives.

Illinois Fighting Illini (17-11, 9-8 Big Ten) have gone 11-4 in home games. Illinois leads college basketball with 40.5 rebounds per game.

LAST 10 GAMES:

Fighting Illini: 4-6, averaging 77.1 points, 37.4 rebounds, 13.0 assists, 3.3 steals and 4.6 blocks per game while shooting 44.0% from the field. Their opponents have averaged 84.2 points per game.

Hawkeyes: 3-7, averaging 74.4 points, 27.9 rebounds, 16.3 assists, 5.1 steals and 3.1 blocks per game while shooting 45.9% from the field. Their opponents have averaged 82.0 points.

Prediction:

Although Illinois hasn’t played very well the last few weeks I expect that to change tonight against the weak Iowa defense.

99-77 Illinois

Illinois' only remaining big is injured (ankle) and still recovering from mono. They can't shoot. Period.

If they can't score in the paint and can't hit from outside, they are well and truly f*cked because Iowa CAN and WILL.

They also don't play defense. Their drop coverage is a joke. Dix and the Sandforts will feast from midrange. Further, Underwood is more worried about landing the Texas job right now than coaching this collection of soft losers. This Illinois team is broken.

We are going to win, and win going away.

Who gets the start for Iowa with Traore only playing 3 minutes last game? Mulvey? Kingsbury?

Any word on Drew?
If he can start:
Drew
Josh dix
Payton S
Traore
Mulvey

Matchups matter.
Mulvey matches up better vs 7'1" Ivicic.
Dix vs Jaspar
Traore vs Riley?

Who's this guy?

Fran is stubborn about starting lineups. He'll stick with Dembele, Traore, Payton, Dix, Thelwell. If Traore quick shoots and misses, he'll be back on bench and Kingsbury will play.

This will be interesting game. Nearly Everyone in B1G seems to shoot the lights out from 3-pt line against us. Supposedly Illini are brick layers. Something has to give.

Thinking about riding AmericaNeedsMe's uber confidence about this game and just recording the win to watch tomorrow or another time .......

Nah, I'll tune in and stay focused - at least until Illinois really starts pulling away and Fran just stands there pocket-pooling while his timeouts rot away from disuse.
