125 Piotrowski vs Stick- Illinois a big favorite on paper here. Opportunity for Stick to show some progress, needs to stay off his back for sure.

133 Duncan vs Laux- Toss up on paper. Duncan has a 1 point win vs Laux. Need this match.

141 Carr? vs Turk- Turn needs to get 5 or 6 points here.

149 Barone vs Sorensen- Sorensen won 2-0 last year. Need better than that. He can major here.

157 Langenderfer vs Kem- I like Kem big here, major or more.

165 Imar vs Young- Big task for Young but also an opportunity to battle one of the best.

174 Montalvo vs Guther- Toss up type match here. We need it.

184 Parker vs Bowman- Parker favored here pretty big.

197 Lee vs Wilcke- Wilcke favored.

285 Black vs Stoll- Black and Sammy have been close in the past. Sammy needs to handle these types of Matches.

Marinelli might be wrestling Friday against Martinez.

My question boils down to - Which should I subscribe to? if either ....

BTN plus is $9.95/month for Iowa only and does not get you BTN TV (if it's on the main channel)...and it's really easy to cancel in march after Big 10s.

Flo is an annual committment and costs more...but also has a lot more, including HS tournaments and other schools....but you'll never be able to cancel it.

He is weighing in but very very questionable if he will wrestle.
I'd be flat-out shocked if Alex wrestled Friday night. Doubt we see him before Midlands, and IMar is just about the last guy you want him taking on coming back off of injury.

EDIT: Although IMar will make an AWESOME work-out partner for both Alex and Kaleb next year. . . .;)

I have Flo for a month, $29.95/,month you have to go into your account and cancel it at the 30 day mark or they charge your credit card for another month. I've watched wrestling matchs both Big10 and other college matches, plus HS, also watched college basketball via Flohoops using same email and password. You can get a reduced monthly rate of $12.95 month, but you have to pay for a year up front (approx $150), although you can cancel at any time after a month and they prorate the refund.

I signed up the morning of the RU-Maryland match, saw Rutgers than wrestle Oklahoma and U Va at the Journeyman, will watch the Cliff Keen this weekend, along w Iowa vs Illinois, and then Iowa vs Rutgers. Saw many Basketball games too, The video features about Cary Kolat and the Brands Brothers are also excellent.

Hope this info was helpful

Ironside said on the radio today that Young was going. He also said he thought Lee would wrestle unattached at Midlands and then have his shirt pulled. He thought Warner would redshirt. He stated his preference would be to red shirt both for the year.

Will be very surprised if spencer wrestles at midlands. Unless something changes looking like both red shirt.

Interesting - if they pull his shirt they must think he can win a title this year. Warner is a beast but why pull his shirt if Downey coming on? And Wilcke looking like an AA early?

Deuce Rachal has wrestled every match thus far for Ill., hard to imagine Black's first match would be against Stoll.

Lol at Flo blatantly making it difficult to cancel. Maybe one could consider getting a credit card just for Flo; then cancel the credit card when you're done. This used to be a pretty common issue; I had a lot of accounts where they deliberately made cancellation a challenge, but it's nit as common these days.

Big + allows you to watch all Iowa sports that are not televised. Mens and Womans Bball, wrestling, etc. I have found it pretty useful. Sometimes I watch WBB on my computer while watching something on TV

As someone who has been unplugged for about 2 years. I just pay FLO the yearly fee of $150 each Nov because the monthly is just a too much if you consider $30x12= 360. Even if you just use it during wrestling season $30x4 = $120. To me its worth the extra difference to have it year round for documentaries, tourneys etc.

That being said I will still pay BTN+ for about 4 month the $15 monthly fee because I like to see PSU, OHIO ST wrestle too. Plus you get other Iowa sports. And I still will watch the Iowa meets on BTN+ plus because quite frankly I don't trust the FLO feed from past results and I never have issue with BTN + feeds.

I use a ROKU 4 for my main TV and a Amazon Firestick another. I will tell anyone that goes down this route who is a wrestling fan that get the Sling $40 orange/blue combo pack per month on either device. Roku is a device, Sling is an app on it just like say Netflix. Anyway the $40 Sling pack is nice because you can then have that on up to 3 devices. The next is to pay the extra $5 for sports pack. The $40 pack gets you FS1, ESPN, ESPN2. But the extra $5 pack gets you PAC10, ESPN3, ESPN NEWS, SEC CHANNEL, and the best the SUNDAY REDZONE CHANNEL. PAC10 will air ASU wrestling.

One down fall is Sling cannot get you the BTN channel. But you can get the BTN app on the ROKU device. Key to this is to know someone. Luckily my dear old mother still has Mediacom TV since the unplugged world is over her head. I get her account info, go online and make up an account to enter a verify code into the BTN app so they think I have a provider.

Also with ROKU, within the last month they have added more free apps. there is now an app for both NAIA and IIAC. You can watch Grandview, Wartburg, Simpson, Coe etc in all sports including wrestling for free now.

in the end the money I save not paying DIRECTV $100 + each month. or renting a modem/router for Mediacom internet pays for itself.

Think about it if you pay $20 in equipment boxes rental per mo and $8 in modem rent that's $28 x12 = $336. That pays for my FLO etc.

Buy your equipment, unplug folks

I've said it several times. If they do pull his shirt it may have nothing to do with TnT thinking he can win four or even that we can challenge for team title. It may be only about what Spencer and his family want for his career. The sooner he starts his four year college career the sooner he can get(really start) focused on his freestyle career.

If we all put him in that future "elite" freestyler class like Snyder, he may want to get there asap. There is money to be made there for the elites, as Snyder has done and getting there one year sooner will be less wear and tear on his body.

Either way can't wait too see him go.

GO HAWKS!!!

If his body is good to go, I think he sheds the shirt this year. The question is whether his body will reach 100% in time. Just my guess.

I've heard a million different things regarding whether he will or won't go. I'll believe we are willing to start a true freshman when I actually see it. He is beating the piss out of some pretty good kids in the room, and should go if the knee gets the green light, IMO.

Hope bowman makes some noise against Parker.

Yes I have been impressed with Bowman.
He reminds me a farm boy who had to wrestle the pigs when they cut them to get the "Rocky Mt.Osyters"..Chase them take them down roll them over hold them while they getting cut then release and go after another one..Been a big surprise to me.

I wouldn't go that far. He's holding his own against some studs, but I wouldn't say he's beating the piss out of them. Of course, these are world-class training partners we're talking about -- I wouldn't expect any true freshman to just walk in and dominate them from the start.

I'd have no problem with him going this year -- would add a lot of interest among fans and would be very exciting. That said, better to take it slowly than rush at all.

I agree 100% on how Bowman has wrestled this year so far. I did not expect this entering the season. A nice surprise so far. Go Hawks!!!

I think Iowa wins the first three matches and if they do, its going to be a very long night for Illinois.

Didn't IMart stay over seas because he will be in Iran on the 7th?

Won't be able to make it tomorrow night will it be on the radio. My daughter plays basketball so I'm hoping I can catch it on the radio while watching her. I don't know who is more upset her or me. 2 of her favorite wrestlers(Kem & Imart) will be wrestling tomorrow....
