The Hawkeyes aren't ranked #1, as they were thirty years ago, but they head to Northwestern next Saturday, 6-0 ... just like an Iowa team in 1985.

Can the Hawkeyes repeat a 7-0 start, as the Big Ten champion 1985 Iowa team did?

No question, Iowa is an under the radar team nationally, unlike the #1 ranking Iowa owned heading to Evanston, thirty years ago.

It was a hard fought Homecoming game against the Illinois Fighting Illini. The Illini are improved. The Hawkeyes closed it out, on the backs of players like Jordan Canzeri. What a game #33!

Costly loss though today, losing senior DE Drew Ott. But, next man in, as always been the mantra. It is a bitter sweet game at times ... thanks Drew Ott for your 2 full seasons and 2 partial seasons as a Hawkeye. He only played in three Cy-Hawk games (2-1). He did help Iowa beat Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Northwestern over the past four seasons. Sadly, he missed the next six B1G games.
