It is great to be an Iowa Wrestling fan.

Kid has amazing talent and clearly works his ass off but with all this game playing I’m almost to the point of F Bo and let’s work on guys we have a chance with.
I have to agree. I am tired of the "look at me and what I am doing" feel this recruitment of Bo has to it. I much prefer a guy like Blaze who doe not say anything and he will make his mind up and let us know. I get the feeling that Bo spends a lot of time looking at himself in front of the mirror.

Some of us took a lot of abuse on the PSU board for having that view.

Just different cats is all. Bo likes the spotlight but it doesn't make him a diva...just a guy who promotes himself and the sport. A guy like Spencer kind of had to accept the face of the franchise role whereas I think Bo wants to be a leader and the dude out front. Right now, we have two big names in our sport going back and forth on social media...not in a good way. I'm not aware of Bo doing anything douchey...just a guy opening his door to let us see the process.

NCAA rules prohibit alumni from contacting prospective student-athletes or their coaches unless they are members of an Alumni Selection Committee (ASC). ASC members can:
  • Contact and interview prospective students assigned to them by their ASC director
  • Recommend prospects to the appropriate coach
  • Speak to a recruited athlete who calls them, but they cannot discuss the athletics program
Unless Spencer is a member of the ASC, he can’t talk to him.

Couldn’t he just walk past Bo and throw him a sack of money without saying anything?

Does Iowa have an ASC? If they don’t they should and Spencer should be on it.

Or he does on behalf of HWC!

Reading what is important to Bo, I hope the push the religious part of the program. I thing there are many guys that are part of a fellowship. Push the comaraderie of the team and and high character expectations. Finally, I hope like hell Tom is the one to go and if allowed they take Spencer. I saw that it was Smith from Missouri and not an assistant coach. We send an assistant and we can kiss whatever small chance we have of getting him away.

I was thinking the same thing about sharing a day with V tech, on a Friday, which is usually a school day. Meanwhile Cornell and Iowa state get a full weekend day. I hope this isn’t because Tom or Terry were too busy to go on a day they could have to themselves.

I try to read a fair amount but when the topics start going off the rails I stop reading.

Backstory on this: Abe Assad was here for a visit and they were showing him the dorm that he would live in. Maintenance guy saw Tom and said hello and told Abe he had heard of him or something like that. Abe was like wow whereas the outside world claimed the maintenance guy was a Brands plant or something.

Both U20 bronze medalists, both will have very successful collegiate careers. Hawks would be fortunate to land either.

I’m not real sure the comraderie of this current team is what you think it is. Five years ago for sure I would agree with you but I don’t think this current squad is as tight with all the new parts changing constantly.
