Is Lily Luft contending for a starting role on the team? TIA

She got 5th as a true freshman last year, wrestling up a weight, after injuries to the two who started the year at the weight. Luft will be able to go back to her more natural weight of 131 this upcoming year. Depending on how the transfers and everything shakes out in the middle weights, she is likely battling Emily Frost and Nanea Estrella for the starting spot at 131 this year. Or she could redshirt as well. As good as Luft is and as well as she performed last year, our lineup is pretty stacked through these weights already

If Estrella does move down to 131, she would be the frontrunner for the starting spot. Transfer Skye Realin impressed at Women's Nats, beating last year's 136lb runnerup in a best of 3. Also have newcomer Cadence Diduch who tf Luft at U20s. Not sure if she can make 131, though.

I would currently put Realin ahead of Luft, and Luft ahead of Frost. Would not be surprised at all if Luft wins the spot over Realin in the end, though.
