#3 In the nation Bruins. B1G, and especially Iowa, were massively disrespected by the selection committee. They knocked a #4 PSU to a seed in the teens, gave Iowa the worst first round draw of a major conference team, and left a very good Wisconsin team out for a mediocre Arizona State. Take that, NCAA!
UCLA has lost once to Arizona State 2-1 in OT. They also have two ties, both to USC.
That one win against UCLA is pretty much what put them in the tournament over the Badgers. They had a pretty mediocre season, especially towards the end. They shouldn’t be in over a 4th in the B1G, tournament runners-up Wisconsin, by any other stretch. When you look at the seedlings of the B1G teams, it’s clear the committee thought Iowa’s run was a fluke.

Maybe the committee had decided the conference is getting this many bids no matter what, and Iowa stole the bid? No idea what those committees think sometimes.
It was the PAC I thought shouldn’t get as many in as they did, but it was Colorado who flamed out and not ASU. Meanwhile, the B1G teams...
Of note, both Alabama State and Siena have been regulars the last five years.
