UNA is well-coached. Love how they box out. Bluder teams are just so loose with the ball. Little guards, twin sisters, for UNA are nice players. Been a very entertaining game.
Czinano has played really well these first couple games, but she's enjoyed a size advantage. Freshman Marshall has looked more than ready. Kate Martin looks pretty good so far, and Taiwo is a nice player off the bench. Mackenzie is playing solid. Ollinger by far the best rebounder.
I just wish Bluder would get her teams to be great at blocking out—they have very bad block-out habits—and take care of the damn ball.
Doyle seems a little burdened so far by taking Gustafson's role as team leader, adjusting to added responsibility, but she's playing pretty well. She's one of my all-time favorites to play for Iowa.
This is a nice win for a team still figuring itself out.

Good or we might have had another meltdown. Would have been Bata’s fault!
This was a very nice win. They showed a lot of improvement and seems they will have a nice bench. No doubt Coach Bluder is quite good.
agree, love Doyle. Would take her for every position on any team, in any sport. Hate to go cliche but she’s simply a gamer.
Meyer had a great game 21 and 6 RBs and she's really showing her quickness and getting to the basket, and same for Doyle.
A team with a lot of young talent that will be better as the season goes. And even better the next few years. It's not the men's game and that is good. The women's game under Bluder has more fun and joy to the game.
Mak Meyer, Doyle and Marshall all hit a clutch three-pointer late in the fourth quarter, but Iowa couldn't pull away because North Alabama Kept driving the length of the court to the basket for a quick score. Must have been 4 or 5 consecutive possessions. There's plenty of film to study, I guess. Czinano was 9 for 9 for 18 points, including several mid-range jumpers. Taiwo didn't score but had 4 rebounds, 4 assists and a block.
Gabby has won the job in my opinion
Ummm... struggling to beat North Bama? The pitchforks and tar and feathers would be out if this were the men
NOT EVEN CLOSE, if Fran was coming off a Elite 8 and had lost a NBA player and a few other senior players that were major players, and they got beat by Depaul the way they did, people would understand.
North Alabama has several seniors and are a very good team.
Hawks need to work on protecting the rim. Many straight-line drives with little resistance.
I agree North Alabama is a pretty good team and have some very good perimeter players. This was a good win, IMO, by a young Iowa team.
I stopped counting after they allowed dribblers to go coast-to-coast all the way to the basket four times. A lesson the younger Hawkeyes will learn.
This team needs to work on the defense. They get that figured out they will pretty decent again this year.
