This took a bit of time to dig up 😅

Thanks. So while returning everyone this season the girls will still have Caitlin all the juniors returning and 3 4*s to fill those holes left by the seniors in '23. We already have a 5* and some 4* and we're bringing in two top 100 players, including national 39.

The roster is talented. I think the girls will win the auto bid and a big trophy this season.

Kyle, Thank you. This thread is awesome.

Here are a couple other 23 I think we offers out to: Ashlynn Shade and KK Arnold but we did not make their finalist lists. Emily Fisher and Lenee Beaumont.

Correct. Left Shade and Arnold off due to Iowa being on the finalist list.

I would have to look at Fisher and Beaumont.

Fisher has not tweeted that she has an offer from Iowa. Looks like she attended a camp way back. Beaumont has an offer. I’ll add her on.

I assumed once Iowa got to 3 commitments for the 2022 class that they'd be done, so it's interesting to see 3 players with offers still uncommitted. It'd be hard to say no to any of those players if they are still considering Iowa. I don't think that's particularly likely, but we'll see.

The 2024 class is interesting in that I think there's more clarity to it than to Iowa's 2023 class right now. Levin has already committed, and Olson is pretty clearly our top target. She just visited Notre Dame, and UConn is interested, so we'll have to beat some blue bloods to get her like we did with Clark. But there are some positive signs that she's interested in Iowa, too. There also don't seem to be a ton of top in-state recruits in that class aside from Levin.

I don't have much of a feel for what we're trying to do in the 2023 class. I would think we'd have a good chance at landing Williams given how well we've done with All Iowa Attack players recently. Her offer list is also strange in that Iowa's Power 5 competition appears to be Pac 12 schools at this point. I imagine Crooks is also high on the list, and there are positive signs with Eidle--it looks like we're the only school she's visited twice, and she was at the Indiana football game.

Further off, Jenica Lewis looks like the next big in-state recruit. She's said her dream school is UConn, so I'm less optimistic Iowa will land her if she stays one of the top players in her class. A few deep NCAA Tournament runs in the next few years could change that, though. I also think Iowa would be the favorite for Maddyn Greenway if she continues to develop. Chad is a huge Iowa fan and she's already spent a decent amount of time around the program.

Gotta at least try!

If they hadn't had 2 transfer out this spring they would have been filled up or only had 1 spot open. And for 24 recruits I wouldn't give up on McKenna Murray yet, she could be a late bloomer like her brothers, and sounds like she had a pretty good summer, be interesting to see how she does this year in high school.

I have heard from a reliable source Iowa is finished recruiting for the2022 cycle.
That makes sense. If Monika stays an extra year (and assuming Tomi and Logan don't) next year's roster will be at 14 without a transfer. That's a lot of players to try to get playing time.

Covid year has a multiple year affect on recruiting for sure. Having players with an extra year added.

How long before Chad Greenway’s daughter shows up? NFL dad and NCAA track mom, she must have good genetics. She was a 7th grader averaging 21 ppg in 18 min for varsity last year for a Minnesota 2A that lost in the state title game.

It would be great if she is a future Hawk but two factors here. First, from what I have seen, her first sport is soccer. And second, it is possible that by the time she graduates high school in 2026, Coach Bluder will be just retiring and Iowa would have a new coaching staff. Fun to consider though, and I have zero inside information.

I just hope she ends up at Iowa. It would be great if she were a 2-sport star!

If all else fails, she has 3 sisters coming up behind her too.

It may depend on what happens in the classes around her, but I think an offer will eventually come. She’s a good player. Maddyn attended the Ohio State-Minnesota football game last week and GopherHole.com interviewed her afterwards.

Here was her response to one question:

GopherHole: Does that mean something to you to play for the home state school and play with girls that you have grown playing against and with?
Maddyn Greenway: It would be cool, but I really want to go to Iowa.

That's hilarious! Nothing like a big old facepalm for GopherHole

I don’t really watch women’s games but I’ll support a thread about it!

Will be interesting to see how Iowa fares with the '23 and '24 recruits with great offer lists. While Iowa has recruited well in '21 and '22, none of the six commits between those two classes had an offer list anywhere close to someone like Jasmine Brown. I realize that some of Iowa's '21 and '22 commits might have ended up with some more impressive offers, had they not committed so early to Iowa. Still, it would be nice for Iowa to beat programs like OSU or Notre Dame for a recruit. Other than Clark, it's been a while since that happened.
