Literally 20 deep at every carwash I drove by today. I washed both of our vehicles at 08:00 yesterday to take advantage of the 2 decent days to beat the rush. 5 cars waiting in the turn lane to get into the one on 1st Ave in IC. A Suburban with its rear end hanging out into the street.
And, they dumped so much salt onto the roads this week it looks like the surface of the moon.

I was going to wash mine this morning at the one closest to my house but didn’t want to wait behind 3 cars and I was going back into town this afternoon. Went back to the same one an hour ago and just like OP, there were literally 20 or more cars line up. Guess I’ll try again tomorrow morning.

They came out and plowed (?) the roads in NL for that last dusting. They also salted the roads and apparently had a problem doing it. There is a 2" deep pile of salt that is the width of the road and at least 20' long in our neighborhood. Also, it was so freeking cold what little snow we got evaporated. I guess streets dept. needed something to do that morning.

Pro-tip for lucas: Don't wash your car early on a mid 30-40 degree day when either snow and ice are still melting and/or the ground is thawing and thus creating moisture on the road. You wait until the end of the day when temps have decreased and the roads are no longer wet and then you tuck your car away for the night. It's going to be freezing these next few days and your car will look great. You're welcome.

Did they lose their minds because they didn’t wash it yesterday like you or because they are waiting in that long of a line?

Not an issue for me, I don't park in a gravel lot outside of an efficiency apartment in Prairie City. But, I'm sure that works for you.

The DOT is out of control with the brine spraying. I have seen them drop brine on bridges on a 45 degree day with very little chance of freezing precipitation in the forecast. That shit is bad for vehicles and bad for the roads. Government waste and property damage. Wish they would just use sand most of the time and hold the brine until it's actually icy. This is Iowa....slow the fuk down when it's slick.
