Lots of these guys are or would be rated 2 stars and a few on some sites like Brooks are 3 star, Iowa basically got a MAC level recruiting class to walk on, un real job by the coaches.

It would be interesting to see if the walk on class would be ranked higher than some of the non P5 teams recruiting classes.

None of our walk ons had MAC offers. So it's not like we got a MAC level recruiting class. We did get some guys who were legitimate FCS scholarship players, which is still great for depth.

NDSU, SDSU, USD, and UNI are all Top 15 FCS programs that would beat most MAC schools. We don’t have MAC players because they don’t recruit our area. 5 FCS players will go in the first 3 rounds. Will there be 5 MAC players?

The mac is 100% recruiting the same area as us.. the footprint for both conferences are pretty close(big ten a little bigger) most of our recruits come out of Iowa Wisconsin Illinois and Indiana this year.,. There is a mac school with in a 200 miles to all those states

How many offers do Iowa kids get from MAC schools? FSC schools recruit Iowa kids hard. There's never been a MAC school in Northwest Iowa that I can ever recall. NDSU, USD, UNI and SDSU are going through our schools often.

I just took a look at the PWO class and it is impressive. I hadn't noticed James Winters' son on the list before. He is HUGE. Anyone who remembers how hard James played in the aftermath of Chris Street's passing should be pumped about the younger Winters. Tough, gritty bunch the Winters family (Illini F Efrem Winters too, James brother) Got a lil RB out of WI that is a speed burner- PR and KOR?

And then there's the 2 JC LBs. Nice to already have college experience. Several of the PWO class grew up as Hawkeye fans. Bob Brooks' grandson gives this class a Hawkeye history connection that goes back to the days of Nile Kinnick.

It's hard not to root for these guys since they REALLY REALLY wanted to be Hawkeyes.
