One of the best high school class to come out of Iowa. We are off to a great start in this class, hope we can finish strong.

Bollers is a big ?, sounds like a Badger lean
Fidone is also a ?, may end up at Nebraska (Huskers are recruiting Iowa hard)
I like our chances with Bowie and Brecht, but they are visiting ISU, N, M.

If we can get three of the four that would be a solid foundation for the future.

I posted this a couple weeks ago, but I think it will end up being the best in-state class in at least 15 years, if not longer.

Currently tied for most four-stars and will have a good chance to surpass the 2017 class in terms of depth.

Nebraska going after Fidone is like Nebraska seeking payback for Noah Fant becoming a Hawkeye. Nebraska is living in the 20th century, still. Play Green Day's "Wake me up, when September Ends" for their dreamers (fans).

Bollers may be the lost cause of the bunch buying the Badgers's vision for him.

Bowie and Brecht needs to be sure before they commit, but the Clowns are a joke and second tier, much like Nebbie and Minny. Minny is going to hurt themselves as they must fill 9 defensive starters (thinking Winfield turns pro soon). Minny is not that deep on talent. They were lucky with an easy schedule and late wins.

think Jayden Williams will probably be the next one to land a Power 5 offer, then Cooper DeJean, Dodge Sauser, and some others have a chance as well.
DeJean looks like a very versatile athlete. Do you know which position(s) he is being evaluated at by Iowa coaches?

He played WR at Iowa's camp last summer, but could project at a couple different positions. Really good athlete.

Brecht is also a very good baseball project and I thought I read somewhere on this site that KF has given him the green light to play both sports he he comes to Iowa.

Bollers seems to be bought into the idea that he fits better in a 3-4, though we're not entirely out of it.

We seem to have made up ground with Fidone recently, and the fact that we're TEU vs Frost using his TE's mainly as blockers on quick screens should help us there.

We're in the driver's seat for Brecht and Bowie.

Solid in-state class for 2021.

I recently read a comment from Logan Jones about Fidone, and reading between the lines I didn't think it sounded very encouraging.

If I remember correctly, didn't Hayden Fry say early in his tenure that there were "maybe five or 6 guys in-state every year that could play D1 football"?

if that is so, it sounds like the qualityof Iowa prep football has improved a lot in 40 years, as there more than twice that many now.

No biggie, but I guess Maro, Brecht and Fidone are in Lincoln for their basketball game today. Frosty had said Iowa had a ton of talent in the 2021 class and he was hoping to capitalize on it.

It's up to 18 now.

Here's how that compares to a few border states, including Minnesota and Wisconsin that have nearly double the population.

Any explanation for this? And how much of this is that new coaches at Nebraska, ISU, and Minnesota are very comfortable throwing out lots of offers, even if they aren’t recruiting a kid very hard or willing to immediately accept the commitment?

Not an in-state, but Geers the TE from Illinois committed to Minny. So hopefully we get Fidone or another top TE target emerges for '21. Of course we have excellent talent the next 3-4 years with Lachey, Yelverton, Miamen, + Laporta… nothing to worry about just yet.

Unless the excellent talent we have at TE decide to leave early ala the NFL..

With MC in Ames, I'd guess we have closer to 10,000 in state kids with d1 offers!
