He is playing very well. Despite the team outcomes, any objective scout should see nothing that suggests a regression from King. He has certainly improved his stock, in my opinion.

Now, was a delay in salary or the injury risk worth a potential .500 record? Hmm...

Yeah, I guess i viewed his return as more of a quest to achieve a title than to improve his draft stock. I think he has certainly shown more of how he can be an asset to a NFL special teams unit, but as a corner...he's not getting a ton of action.

Without his return yards last saturday, we would have gotten destroyed.

He's consistently said that finishing his degree was a big part of the decision. I also imagine he's made some great friends after what was an emotionally difficult final year of high school and he's grown to love being a Hawkeye. Maybe he didn't like his draft projection and he's taking advantage to show what he can add to a team as a full time/improved return guy in addition to a great dback (return skills got Micah Hyde on the field a lot as a younger pro, maybe it could mean more for King in the spring). Had to be a tough decision.

If I were his father I would have advised him to take the money he had coming from the draft last year.

Hope he doesn't get hurt and does get his payday in 2017. He deserves it, especially after coming back for this.

I would have too...I guess the allure of making history as the only two time Jim Thorpe Award winner probably weighed heavy. Hindsight is 20/20, but I imagine if he had a crystal ball and could see how much the team would struggle in 2016, he would've tossed his hat in the ring despite the chance to make history. The degree is admirable, but he can always finish school after he's done making millions in the NFL...time's ticking, go get your cheese.

Brian Griese said he was the best D Back in the country during the michigan Connie game.. He is still very highly thought of despite all the Hawkeyes woes..

Saw this tweet the other day about King. He is definitely playing well when thrown at

King is ridiculous. Teams are playing with fire throwing to his side. Their have been a few completions but in VERY tight windows. He's also a shoelace/turf monster away from having a few tds in the return game. He's playing great.
