We need some more little Matt’s roaming the field for our Hawkeye defense for the future .. I haven’t heard too much since he graduated and played for the Dolphins or Jags? Not sure where he played pro ball but hey I am hoping Roth has some kids!

Yes he has kids. He is back in IL, works for a union working with heavy equipment. Still a huge Hawkeye fan and never misses watching a game.
Man, he was fun to watch ... One of my favorite Hawkeyes of all time. I loved his motor and his confidence.
One of my favorite plays by Roth is Senior Day vs Wisconsin. Early on after an Int less than 5 minutes into the game Wisconsin has good field position and he blows by the tackle for huge sack. Just set the tone for an amazing day. Also love the face paint look he had going that day.

I’ll never forget Roth back when they had FanFest. Roth and Kaeding are answering questions. Roth was in the NFL and got arrested for public intox the night before. He’s wearing a crazy fancy shirt that had to cost $250. After things slow down they ask if anyone has another question. Some old guy raised his hand and asks Roth if he bought that shirt or did somebody give it to him. The crowd dies laughing and Matt and Nate both get pissed. My buddies who were there still laugh about it from time to time. I think Matt or Nate would have smacked the guy if he hadn’t been old.
One of my fav games. That was loudest game I’ve been too. Loved all the wiscy fans with roses in their mouths. They had it coming.
I'm good friends with him, his oldest son is a BIG kid already and a chip off the old block like his pops...he's got 4 kids now and enjoying nfl retirement..
I met Roth at Disney World after the Cap One Bowl. Couldn't have been nicer. We laughed about the salute at the Hawkeye Huddle before LSU game.

I remember they had Tyler Luebke on the Iowa huddlecast. They started talking about Roth and Luebke said one of Roth’s kid was a redhead and Roth told Luebke that it was probably karma for making fun of him so much.
That was hilarious he pancaked the QB.. I mean flattened him out like a bulldozer
That was definitely a crowd pleaser when he f_offed LSU at the Huddle. Took my wife and daughter to Florida for a week, we had a great time.
I think it was another huddle cast with Matt Malloy, and Matt and drew where talking about a practice Roth and gallery where getting into a fight and Roth cane out of the pile holding gallery’s face mask and was running around.. but who on the staff would have stopped those two from going at it?

My favorite Matt Roth moment was the badassness he demonstrated before the LSU bowl game by flipping them off, because it was one of our players, and hey, we bring the noise.
