so apparently the winning team can't sprint across the field and claim the game trophy until both teams shake hands?? that's how dolph described it on the radio... i'm all for sportsmanship but that is just lame.

hmm i guess i'll await the fines coming for minnesota and their disparaging i hate iowa chant.

The trophy wasn't on the other side of the field. It was in the end zone. You sprint to claim the trophy if you don't already have it. If it's yours already, you calmly collect it and move on.
I was certain that is what this thread was about.
This thread sucks :)

This doesn't bother me too much, avoids a potentially ugly situation. What exemplifies the "pussification of America" is the sh*t they are are penalizing players for during the game. It's not an overreaction to say football as we know it will not exist in a decade or two. The kickoff is already on its way out, that's pretty clear.

I wouldn't be so sure. They can only take it so far before people quit watching.

$$$$$$

You know, we did the same thing vs Iowa St. I thought it was kind of odd but if this is what the team decided to do together I can't be too mad.

Pussification would mean both teams get a trophy.

I am ok with how they did it. The trophy is nice, but who cares about $hitty Minnesota?

That's the pussification right there. Used to be kept on the sideline of the possessing team, and if they lost, the winner would storm their bench with the teams coming to near blows.

That gave trophy games a jagged edge, and helped put hair on the players' balls.

This thread sucks and makes Iowa fans look like hillbilly Nebraska fans. Lets just cut our losses and end this thread before we look ourselves look any dumber than some of you already have.
