IOWA CITY, Iowa - - The University of Iowa announced on Friday that less than 1,000 tickets remain for Saturday’s season-opening football game with Northern Illinois, and that all tickets for home games with Iowa State (Sept. 8) and Wisconsin (Sept. 22) have been sold. A very limited number of tickets remain for Iowa’s Sept. 15 home contest with Northern Iowa.

Tickets for Saturday’s contest are available at hawkeyesports.com/tickets. Ticket windows at Kinnick Stadium will open on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.

The annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series contest against Iowa State (4 p.m., FOX) the following weekend is sold out, along with the opening Big Ten Conference game against Wisconsin (Sept. 22, time TBA) as the teams battle for the Heartland Trophy. Iowa’s contest with Northern Iowa (6:30 p.m., BTN) is nearing sellout status.

With rain in the forecast for Friday evening and Saturday, the UI Athletics Department also announced that grass parking at the Finkbine Golf Course Driving Range and the Lower Finkbine Grass Lot will not be open for Saturday’s opener. Fans accustomed to parking in those locations may use other public surface lots, including Hawkeye Commuter, Hall of Fame, and Ramp 4.

The Hawkeye Express, the passenger train that transports fans from Coralville to Kinnick Stadium, begins operation three hours prior to kickoff. Return trips begin at the start of the fourth period and run 90 minutes after the game. Adults can ride the train for $15, round trip, while children (12-and-under) ride for free. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the UI Ticket Office or on game day (cash only on game day) at the Hawkeye Express depot located near the boarding ramp. The trip to Kinnick Stadium is approximately 10 minutes. Free parking is located in lots near the Comfort Suites and Coral Ridge Mall.

The Northern Illinois game will be televised on BTN in Iowa, Illinois, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Missouri, but will be shown on an alternate BTN channel in other states. Fans can find the BTN GameFinder Chart at btn.com/btn-gamefinder.
