Heaven, Iowa
Amazing fan base, huh?

Why would anyone wanna play there?

Because the game was over at half time and they expect to beat ISU every year. We need 70k fans and the Hawks still can't get fired up to not get upset at home by an FCS team when they are knocking on the door of being ranked in the top ten.

The Toads don't draw flies. I don't know how many -- if any -- sellouts they had last season. When we played down there two years ago in the last game of the season, and TCU had a bid to the playoffs on the line, the place was probably a fourth empty. When we played them a few years ago in a bowl game, I think there were damned near as many ISU fans as TCU fans.....and the game was in freaking Dallas.

Having said all that, I got the impression from watching on TV that a lot of people left at halftime (it was 24-7 and uncomfortably hot).

Still, it's amazing to me that with the success the team has had and the population base, they draw maybe two-thirds as many fans to their games as Iowa State, which hasn't exactly been a world-beater the past few seasons (or forever).

It's such a dinky school. 10,000 enrollment! So no real fanbase or alumni to draw from. Bizarre that they ended up in a P5 conference, but money and being in a recruiting hotbead are amazing equalizers these days.

I was at the game Yesterday and it was terrible. No respite from the sun and 90s at kick off. It was my first game there as I was invited by season ticket holders. It was pretty lame. Everyone told me that it was because of the start time and opponent; regardless, I can't remember any Hawkeye game, no matter the conditions or opponent, as lame as this game. Likely will not go back anytime soon. Also, the student section is between the 10s on one whole lower level. Was not full until end of first quarter and then was empty by half time.

Well if we lose a few more games Kinnick will look like that.
At least ticket prices won't be absurdly f***ing high. You want overreactions, look at the changes in ticket prices when Iowa is doing good and when Iowa is doing bad.

It's f***ing ridiculous.
