It's easier to win in an imaginary one, unless your imagination sucks. So is an imaginary new wrestling room with tons of windows still better than an actual new wrestling room with no windows?
So, it looks like the bonds for the new ISU wrestling facility were designed to be secured by revenue generated by the ISU athletic department and, if those departmental funds proved to be insufficient (because ISU football doesn't receive the same TV revenue as Alabama or any other reason), the state's taxpayers would ultimately be on the hook.
Seems like a pretty big gamble with state taxpayer dollars.
Hard to be sympathetic toward ISU's predicament. Go out and raise the money through private donations.
They have a donor?I was pretty surprised to read they weren't paying for it out of donor funds.
