That was kind of how I read Pollard’s statements. Now that they have a 12th game the should be suspended immediately. Not wait until the last game of the year.

North Carolina has the players suspended for selling their gear. Their game is canceled this Saturday. If they make up the game at the end of the year, the players will be suspended for that game.

Just make it so all suspensions can be served for a game to be named later. Then they can wait till the player is injured to serve it. If that never happens, just pick the easiest game the next year (or, better yet, the spring game).

I'm not sure if I'm misinterpreting you or the article (or both), but it sounds to me that if UNC gets a 12th game scheduled, the players would serve their remaining 1-game suspension immediately:
"UNC could still add a make-up game to replace the UCF game, at which point those players would have to sit out the next game."
In other words, if Iowa St adopted the same policy, the players in question would have to sit out the Oklahoma game. IMO, if this is not the action taken by ISU/Pollard, it will be heavily criticized, even more so than the decision to allow those players to play against Iowa.
Pollard made it sound like those players were suspended for the week, which did not necessarily have to include a game. This is why they didnt play in the 5 minute scrimmage against SDSU.
