It’s official. Iowa women to play lower seed NC State in their back yard.

It may be hostile, but doubtful it will be large. NC St. only drew 2800 for their 2nd round game tonight. Bigger advantage will be getting to sleep in their own bed etc.

Hawkeye men handled Cincinnati close to their home. The Hawkeye women will be ...

Would you rather play NC State at their home with potential Neutral versus Baylor or "home in Chicago vs Missouri State" and then "road" versus Notre Dame?
Chicago is probably easier to get to Elite 8 but better in Greensboro for chance for Final 4.
If you want to be the champ, you are going to have to face the challenge sometime.

If we get by NC State, Baylor has been beating teams by an AVERAGE of 48 points in the tournament.

Baylor is also the overall #1 seed.

Getting to the Elite 8 would be a terrific accomplishment.

ISU women hung with Baylor for 3 quarters before losing by about 15.

Yeah. I hope we get the opportunity to match up against them.

The Hawks will go as far as the guard court takes them. Meghan is going to always be there. It just seems that the guard court has not performed on the road as well as they should have this year (see Purdue, MSU, Michigan, Indiana).

Playing NC ST in Greensboro will be as close as it gets to a road game. NC State is a fair bit better than these B1G teams Mentioned above.

If the guard court can knock down shots and play the kind of defense we saw vs Mizzou, we can beat just about anyone. Hopefully they will be able to knock down shots and keep the assist machine going.

Also hopefully they learn how to make effective bounce passes to the posts whether they're on the block or up top.

Too many careless turnovers come from their flat or straight-line passes inside where they didn't take the extra effort to keep the defenders from forcing the steal.

Reminds me of watching Moss exposing the basketball every other time he touches it.....................

Meh, usually in these types of events, they'll be able to begrudgingly rally enough people together for it to "feel" like a home game.

They'll ramp up the marketing this week that the NC State women are in Greensboro, and probably do something to get students there if they want to go, and they'll also get the casuals who see that there's a local team playing in the Sweet 16 just down the road or in their home town and get them to turn out.

Unfortunate but it happens.

Shouldn't be a big deal, though, unless the women's officials play to the "home crowd" because it's the women's tournament and they need eyes and storylines on the game.

Now....let's see who I hook with that last paragraph.

ESPN is full out on Megan Gustafson, so maybe they will put pressure on the refs to give Iowa a favorable treatment:)
