Dumb; maybe you’re projectingBullsh*t!
And claiming on an anonymous message board to have some superiority to others based on $ that you supposedly give is absolutely hilarious.

I did $200 to Swarm last spring hoping they'd sign Perkins---they didn't.How much have you kicked in since the hire?
lolI hope the athletic department and donors currently have a plan for statues outside of Carver for two GOATS: Ben McCollum and Beth Goetz!
We already have one of the best football coaches in the Nation. If you aren’t smart enough to see that, I am concerned about you.Now let's get a football coach.
My first big project success I had was with a major food company in the Chicago area. The Manufacturing VP loved me and after start up introduced me to the CEO and we had a great talk re: future business, etc. Talked college and I mentioned Iowa - CEO was a ND fan (shocker). Couple weeks later I'm on the project site and the CEO invites me to a dinner that was after a golf outing at Chicago golf in Wheaton the following day. As soon as I get there, he grabs me and introduces me to Bump and Pete Elliott. Great guys and had a great time talking over a few beers. Other names there were Mike Ditka, Mike White (IL coach), Digger Phelps.Story about Bump, and he called this on himself. He had struck out with Lauterbur and Commings, and as much as admitted that Fry was his last shot as AD. A miss with Hayden and Bump would have been looking for a job. But yes, Bump made some great hires in the history of Iowa athletics.
I feel just like the pig in the GEICO commercial! I'm going whee, whee, whee all the way home.
Isiah Howard as well
Why can’t everyone just be happy with the McCollum hire. It’s not about who donated and who didn’t. If you can afford to donate to the basketball team do it. I will say don’t bitch about the results if you don’t.
I’m not sure he’ll play slow if he doesn’t have toFans are going to have to adjust to a slow ball, defense-oriented game. For wins what the hell. I loved watching Drake's deliberate style. It frustrated opponents and look forward to McCollum pissing off B1G teams.
I’m not sure he’ll play slow if he doesn’t have to
He routinely averaged 75-80 points in D2 when he wasn’t physically disadvantagedHave you watched any Drake games? His offense goes deep into the shot clock. He may change his philosophy, but coaches seldom do.
Well hell, I didn't realize that unless we donate to SWARM then our 1st Amendment rights were getting revoked. Why can’t everyone just be happy with the McCollum hire. He adjusts to his personnel more than anything. Drake had no depth.Have you watched any Drake games? His offense goes deep into the shot clock. He may change his philosophy, but coaches seldom do.
Yep. While it won't be Fran ball on O it will be based on our strengths and personnel at the time. RefreshingHe routinely averaged 75-80 points in D2 when he wasn’t physically disadvantaged

It seems so many don't understand that just because one has a right to do something, doesn't make it the right thing to do.Well hell, I didn't realize that unless we donate to SWARM then our 1st Amendment rights were getting revoked.
Don't ask this on the football board.Besides that. Would you rather win by slowing the game down by playing defense and rebounding….or lose 90-110?
Inept offense is still inept. Be great to have good defense or good offense, to go along with a great counter partDon't ask this on the football board.
The makings of complete outrage

The difference being in basketball you might have a trade-off with a guy like Luka who can’t really defend but brings a lot offensively. Unlike the constant gaslighting we got from Brian and Kirk about “complimentary football” when our offense was literally just abysmal in parts of 2021, and all of 2022 and 2023.See what I mean?
The same is also true for those players who were on the roster last season, and have not entered the portal after Fran was dismissed. Those who were on the roster last season, and entered the portal after Fran was dismissed, will only be back if BM wants them back.
They can desire to return all they want, but its up to McCollum & his staff if they will or not.

He's changed it every year depending on personnel. Apparently, he really does that. He only played as slow as he did at Drake because he needed to for wins. I read an article about how he played more up tempo in D2. Mind you, it wasn't exactly "up tempo" as we know it but he will change it according to what he has available. The one consistent here...he always wins with whatever scheme he plays.Have you watched any Drake games? His offense goes deep into the shot clock. Not exactly the same. Any scholarship player currently on the roster can stay on scholarship for their full 4 years as long as they stay in good standing. BMac could certainly encourage someone to move on who isn’t part of the plan, but they can’t get booted because he says so.The same is also true for those players who were on the roster last season, and have not entered the portal after Fran was dismissed.
Thats what happens when You use stool softeners recreationally after swilling down a full frying pan of greasy eggs washed down by a fifth of cheap gin , not that I would know PersonallyAny negative nellies need to gtfo.
The BM movement has just started. (pun)
Lick was national coach of the year, just had his second Sweet 16 team, and had set school records for wins. That said, the "trying to be optimistic" comment is spot on. Lick seemed like an odd hire despite his success at Butler. I feel much better about McCollum. This part is understandable
This part is bullsh*t. People were certainly trying to be optimistic, especially after having had it with Alford, but Lick was not nearly as sought-after as BMac, and his intro press conference was absolutely cringe-worthy.
Exactly. Brian Ferentz cost Iowa multiple Big Ten championships wasting generational type defenses. Those non-Ws will be a stain on the Ferentz brand.
Something on me bounced up higher....I watched this five minutes thinking she would bounce up higher.
He had to with the player he had on Drake.....that wasn't what he ran at Northwest Missouri State...Have you watched any Drake games? His offense goes deep into the shot clock. He may change his philosophy, but coaches seldom do.
I'll take an "ugly" W over an "entertaining" L any day of the week. Sign me up for more W's..Besides that. Would you rather win by slowing the game down by playing defense and rebounding….or lose 90-110?
