Is Fran McCaffrey still coach of Iowa men’s basketball?
Why?
Why?
Shareable?Fran has nudes of Beth
Actually, the game was close until the 3 min mark when Wsky pulled away.Better question. Did we have visitors at the game?
Honestly, given the overall lackluster state of the program, we may as well fire him now and install one of the assistants as interim and then start the process early. There really is no need to wait at this point. We aren't making the tourney (hell, we probably won't even make the B1G tourney), so may as well start the search process ASAP.
I don't trust my memory, but I thought I've read that the buyout drops after 4/1 or something like that. So yeah, maybe wait for that date to come and go. Of course, that doesn't mean that Beth has to sit on her hands in the meantime - maybe start putting out feelers earlier. Unless there's some rule that she can't contact other coaches mid-season.Guessing the price tag of the buyout goes down quite a bit in a few months. If the season is basically over and you’re not playing for anything, why not just wait so you can save a few bucks?

They're called agents.I’m sure there’s behind the scenes dealings going on that we’ll never know, if the decision has been made to pull the plug. I believe Iowa can’t contact a coach directly without that school’s permission, but if we’ve learned anything about how NIL operates, there are ways around that for sure.
I’ve also heard the 4/1 date reported.I don't trust my memory, but I thought I've read that the buyout drops after 4/1 or something like that. So yeah, maybe wait for that date to come and go. It'd be so Iowa to wait until 4/1 then miss out on their top five targets.I’ve also heard the 4/1 date reported.
My question is this: Could Iowa on Monday, March 10, the day after the regular season ends, announce that they will part ways with McCaffery “effective 4/1,” (triggering the lower buyout) and then immediately start interviewing potential successors?
If Iowa has to wait until 4/1 to pull the trigger, we will be behind quite a few other schools in their hiring processes.
If Beth knows what she's doing, she can hire someone right now and have them wait til 4/1.I’ve also heard the 4/1 date reported.

I miss the old days when you could just fire someone for being bad at their job for 15 years.
