I can't tell you how many times I have had to completely shut myself down over some asshat senior citizen writing a check for 5 dollars and change and they didn't even bother filling out the date / memo / signature before checking out. I've even had some try to balance their ledger in their checkbook.

I don't want to euthanize. Just quit prolonging life. Look at some of these folks in nursing homes. They don't even know where they are at and we are continuing to give them RX drugs and life saving procedures.

Don’t forget not getting the checkbook out until they have their entire order scanned and bagged. And before they get it out, they have to actually find it.
I guess I don't get out much because I honestly cannot remember the last time I had to wait at any checkout lane for anything to the point where it made me angry. Hell, I don't remember the last time someone ahead of me actually wrote a check for something, too.
OK, maybe picking up prescriptions...but still. Maybe it's because I use self checkout (if applicable) for just about everything any more.
