Hate to say it fellas, but our coaches suck and our recruiting is lacking behind the rest the top teams in our league. Losses like this past Saturday will continue. Are we going to be able to compete while KF is here? I don't think so. I will continue to support my hawkeyes but can't shake this cloud hovering over my head. Someone help me step away from the ledge.

Moronic post.

Go watch some youtube videos of last year and enjoy your hangover....

Guys don't let your disdain for this team cloud your judgement. We are getting 30mil+ a year and this is what we get. KF needs to go.

Whatever you're paying Mike Riley got you a losing record. Might be time to open the checkbook if you ever want to compete with Iowa again.

Damn, and I thought we won 12 games last year. I didn't realize that we won 12 games and still suck.
A sea turtle could have coached us to double figure wins with our schedule last year. It was a great year and this year will be fun as well. Some might forget how close we were to a few more losses last year. This year could still be special or we could be on the wrong end of a handful a close games. Every year a few bounces is the difference between 6 and 10 wins it seems.

This year will be better then average we won't have the 12-0, 11-1 and 10-2 like some fans thought. I still see a 9-3, 8-4 team with a good bowl game ahead.

8-4 is a terrible record considering 2 of those wins were a gimme and there should have been a 3rd gimme win. So, basically, 5-4 in games that actually count is okay with you.

2 losses per year max, that is my minimum standard, 3 losses if the schedule is particularly difficult, which it isn't this year.

You negative nancys out there make me sick. One tough loss to a team that has won the last 5 national titles at the FCS level and we are right back to "Fire Ferentz". Jesus. Take your bipolar meds and sit the F down. Iowa has never been a team to blow out it's opponents on the regular. Iowa State should probably trade places with NDSU so that massacre doesn't hold a lot of water. Give the guys a chance to make adjustments and let's see how we do against Rutgers. Go Hawks.

That's why Iowa will always be average! The attitude that mediocrity is ok, and as long as we win 7! That's too bad, we have had so many weak schedules the last 5-6 years and only one double digit win season.

You must not of been born during the Hayden Fry era? We certainly did blow people out, every chance he got! That's not KF style and his team suffers for it! I don't care if they won 10 FCS titles, its not a game we should lose...ever! Its only happened four times, obviously there is a reason for that?

Yes Hayden Fry did blow some people out but he played some really bad teams. Iowa State Northwestern and Wisconsin were impossible not to blow out at that time. I feel sorry for the people to young to realize how lucky Iowa is to have the coaching staff we have. Do I get upset with some of the things they do. Of course I do but I've been around long enough to know what Iowa would be without them.

I was a sophomore at Iowa when Ferentz took over so I grew up watching Fry's Hawks. Ferentz has a pretty darn good record despite not blowing people out a la Fry. The reason why it's not happening more often is because the Alabama's and Ohio State's and the Michigan's of the world are too busy scheduling worse FBS schools like Hawaii, Tulsa and Chattanooga. I would bet a good sum of money that NDSU would beat each of those three teams. The big boys don't want to schedule a team like NDSU because of what happened to Iowa last week. I don't have grand illusions of Iowa ever being considered elite. I do expect a trip to a major BCS bowl game every handful of years though. How many coaches can say they have had 5 top ten AP finishes in the last 15 years? Not many. And no offense, but the fact that you discount NDSU winning 5 consecutive national titles makes me question your football intelligence. Alabama isn't coming close to doing that in FBS and people can't stop talking about how great they are. Should Iowa have lost? Ofcourse not, but that's why they play the game. Let's not act like the sky is falling, like I said in my first post. Let's take it a game at a time and reserve final judgement for the end of the year. Go Hawks.

Could be worse. Could be USC, ND, LSU, Auburn, Oklahoma, or Arkansas. Have all those 4-5 star recruits and still suck. That's when I would start questioning the coaching.

ND and LSU just fired coaches. USC had thr nuts to mess with Bama and Utah at home is no joke. Old Bert B doesn't give them something this year or next and he will be gone also.

I tried to tell you all. We need to temper our expectations for a KF coached team. I see us going 5-7 but no making a bowl game. Just horrible the state this program is in. How can we stop the bleeding?

NDSU deserved to win the game but, with all they did it still took a last second field goal to beat what could be a bad Iowa team. They are not great and I would bet you a years wages they could not beat any one of those teams this year....I now am being to question your football intelligence! Alabama has 3 national championships in the last 5 years. Bottom line it was another KF epic failure! Sky fell years ago....

Appreciate the banter, Kyle. Now I sort of feel bad for how ugly it was for Nebraska last year. Yikes, you guys were terrible.
