It's almost as if they had to do some research and testing to confirm it is safe to use as a treatment instead of willy nilly writing out scripts with no oversight.

The smartest thing those drug companies did was, in the very beginning, make it so they could never be held liable for this.
Which is saying basically nothing, as FDA is statutorily prohibited from prohibiting docs from prescribing for off label use. Now as to the manufacturer marketing it for that use, well, that's another story...

I see the village moron has chimed in to entertain us once again.
I have to laugh every time I see somebody make positive reference to ivermectin and HCQ as legit Covid treatments. They seem to be deeply invested in getting some kind of vindication over this. Coming from the group that thinks covid was either fake or waaaaaay overblown ("just the sniffles") and that going with the do nothing approach (see Desantis) was the best idea. If you do get the sniffles that nobody dies from (only with) then make sure to get some of this HCQ or Ivermectin and ignore the idiots in modern medicine because they have an agenda.
They are also deeply invested in proving that covid came from a lab so they can apparently "hold China accountable" for the fake virus that nobody dies from and we were silly to worry about.
Actually, it has nothing to do with allowing. So no "endorsement" at all...just the FDA acknowledging that they can't stop doctors from doing it. Thanks.

Don’t believe @Finance85 ever admitted to it, but routinely promoted/cited junk websites, studies, and articles. Even claimed the Duke study would validate ivermectin use. Spoiler…it didn’t. Avoids these threads, but can still be found in anything related to vaccine injury or gain of function research being funded by Fauci.
And scientists now understand WHY early ivermectin studies from around the world produced misleading information related to Covid.
Parasite that ivermectin works against are endemic in those countries; using ivermectin to clear the worms made people healthier, so they had a better chance against Covid. So, if you have worms AND Covid, ivermectin IS your gig!!!
If you live in an area that worms/parasites are NOT endemic, then ivermectin isn't going to do anything to help with Covid.
It would be a really fascinating to see behind the curtain on the ivermectin horse paste messaging plan. As soon as pfizers mass media teams went full throttle and all the little sheep followed, it's all anyone ever believed. I didn't take it for covid, but to pretend and truly believe it isn't a legit human medication that's been prescribed for decades to tens of millions of people is crazy. It really shows just how easily programmed people really are.
See here's the deal, I disagree with Joesplace on pretty much everything, but this makes perfect sense. Why do you all think couldn't this be the messaging very early on, instead of the horse medicine garbage? Surely it didn't take 3+ years for real experts to figure this out?
The "messaging plan" was clear: Sell $100-200 "referrals" for a worthless Covid medication to idiots in America, who denied vaccines were effective. And they did very very well with that business model.
