Sorry if this has been discussed.

Incredibly athletic play! It would likely make a 20 year highlight film for the Hawks.

Two officials called it a touchback. Why was it spotted at the one? I thought touchback was the correct call, as his momentum clearly took him into the end zone.

So, what happened during the commercial break?

Looked like he came down at the one in the highlights. Guy is amazing!

Yes, arguably he was "down" at the one. But I thought the rule was that it was a touchback if the momentum carried him into the EZ. Also, the officials called it a touchback. Then it wasn't. Huh?

You may be right. I'm not up on that rule.

Pretty sure that's if you catch it and run into the endzone. However, Jackson's knee hit at the one so he was down where his knee landed before momentum could carry him there.

This, if your momentum takes you in it counts as not running back into the end zone for a safety, but if you are down you are down. Obviously in the NFL it would've still been a touchback regardless since he wasn't touched before he rolled in, provided he didn't get up and try and return it.

And as great a catch as it was, I still think BJ Lowery vs ISU in 2013 has the edge in one handed grabs. And as unlikely as it is to say, that game was closer than this one was when it happened!

One could argue that he didn't have complete control of the ball until he was in the end zone. I don't know that I would argue that, but one could.

They reviewed it during the break and changed the call

incredible atheleticism. the guy looks like spiderman out there. on that play we were more athletic than ohio state, doesnt happen often and nice to see.

On replays, he looked like he was down inside the 1/2 yard line, but they gave it to us on the 1. I thought that was wrong, too, but won't complain.

Bad call. The ball clearly was beyond the goal line when Jackson's knee hit. Touchback was the correct call. But then spotting the ball wasn't this crew's greatest strength. The spot on that OSU punt that landed ten rows up in the stands was ludicrous. But overall, I thought this was one of the better officiated games of the year despite a few mistakes. And the officials on the field got this one right. It was the booth that blew it.

I honestly think the replay ref didn’t know the rule about ball when knee down in this scenario. I bet if it was all the same situation but that’s a receiver they call it a touchdown it’s like they saw his knee hit and said, ya he down.
