*****Jacob Wallace Commits to Iowa*****

Good HS to get into. My guess they have someone that's rated highly in the '26 class they are looking at

That high school was a power in high school basketball for years. Don't worry about the star rating. Maybe he didn't attend any summer camps. At any rate welcome aboard Jacob!

While I agree with what many said about Parker late commits, I’m perplexed that his status nationally hasn’t translated to better CB recruiting these past few years.
If we finished in top 10 every other year I am sure it would.

Wallace was also a good enough basketball prospect to earn at least one D1 scholarship offer. I wonder if his 2-star rating is at least in part due to playing in grassroots basketball events during the summer instead of attending football camps.
Love basketball players on the gridiron and football players on the hardwood. Guess I like multi-sport athletes.

Would expect Jacob to have good flexibility, change of direction, vision, and ball skills

I trust Phil's "rating system" over Rivals, 24/7, On3, etc.

After all, Cooper was "just" a 3 star and he will be starting in the Super Bowl in a few days.

I guess I'm also in the camp of wondering why ANY DB that wants to play in the NFL isn't lining up to go to Iowa? Moss and DeJean ended that argument permanently. Phil knows how to find and develop them. I love it when he converts 2* players into superstars. But it'd be nice to have a few more 4* / 5* players lining up. I don't get it but I know in 2025, it's just the $$ that talk.

Character counts and I think dematha probably values that and along with good parents helps builds a fine foundation for future success .
Congrats to Jacob!

Totally could see this being the case. It's like judging kids in 7v7. That has to be the biggest scam one could have.

Maybe he could double down and play point guard for Hawks also....joking.

when pp goes out of his way to find a 2 star makes me very happy. in fact those picks usually end up better than the 4/5 stars he gets.
