Vikings have 2nd pick of the 4th round and one of their needs is depth on interior defensive line. I think JJ is the highest ranked DT left on most analysts' "best still available" lists. I hope he goes to Minnesota. He'd be a good fit with Coach Zimmer's defensive scheme. They rotate 6-8 lineman every game and I could see JJ playing inside on passing downs because of his quick burst. Crossing my fingers.

Paul Allen said if he was there for this pick JJ would be his guy! Let's hope so..

The Packers have the first pick in the 4th round. They love Iowa guys.

Hopefully Jaleel Johnson doesn't make it to the second pick in the 4th round.

As a Packer fan, there isn't a Hawkeye I would want before the 6th round.

Harsh 83. Very harsh....

Are your u clueless? None before the 6th round I guess that is why you have no clue about football
Really?

With their first 2 picks, the Packers selected a CB and a safety. Strike King.

With their next pick they selected a DL. Strike Johnson.

In the off-season they signed 2 TE's. Strike Kittle.

Who else is there for today's rounds? Packers need OL, OLB, and RB. I don't think the Hawks have anyone who can fill these needs that is better than others available. Why should the Packers spend 4th or 5th round picks on guys playing positions they have already addressed?

So who is the clueless one? Might want to do your research next time.

I wouldn't be all that surprised if the Packers took another DB or DL in rounds 4, 5 or 6. Anyone in the secondary who played in that game against Atlanta not named Clinton-Dix or Morgan Burnett should feel zero job security whatsoever. Thompson whiffed on the high picks at DB in 2015, and so he's having to go to the well again to address the issue. If they can get the defense to just average or above average, the team has a chance to get to the Super Bowl. They came 1 game away last year with a dumpster fire.

I actually concur with this...IF the Packs is drafting for NEED these Hawks wont be among those chosen....Now I would like to see my Steelers move up and snag DK that would be just swell or Kittle

As pathetic as the Packers secondary was last year they could draft another two Db and it would hurt them st all. King is exactly what they need still to

The Packers need more than 1 CB and safety. The return aspect makes sense as well. Will be interesting to see if they pick another DB at all.

Nothing Ted Thompson does surprises me. I would love to see him draft Dorian Johnson then move up for their other 4th round pick to get Vince Beigel.

I don't disagree....but they also need OL, OLB, and RB. Would like to see them address these before doubling down on a CB/safety.

I think Leshun would fit well in GB

I would be fine with that. I too have given up on figuring out Thompson. His first 5 years in charge of the GB draft were unreal. Rodgers of course, but also hit on Clay Matthews and the list of players he hit on after the first round was stunning. Jordy Nelson, Jennings, Cobb, Jermichael Finley, Nick Collins, Shields, to say nothing of guys like Tramon Williams as a street free agent. Last 6-7 years not as productive. Kind of shows the draft is the crapshoot of all crapshoots.

Right, but the Pack are insanely thin at DB, and I think the NC State guy was a safety. They will need to take another CB in the draft. You're probably right on JJ and GK though

edit: looks like somebody else already said something similar. Personally, I feel like King in the third round is a steal which makes it worth "doubling down"

Ehhh. I think he explained clearly why they don't need king.

Your first post was vague and dumb, or you were trying to get people going.

As a Viking fan, I always like it when we get a Hawkeye on the roster. Vikings currently have 3. Riley Reiff, now Jaleel Johnson come at the right time after Greenways retirement. I also think Marshall Koen has an outside shot at kicker. The Vikings did not draft a kicker, or sign one in UDFA after bringing a few in for visits. Kai Forbath is hardly a sure thing to win the job. Go Marshall!

Veteran DT Jaleel Johnson announced his retirement.
Johnson played eight seasons for the Vikings, Texans, Falcons, and Titans, amassing 149 combined tackles and 7.5 sacks across 86 appearances, 25 of which were starts. He last played in 2023.
$6.3M career earnings. Not bad but thought it’d be higher honestly.
