James Franklin

You hear/see people say to root for the other B1G teams, but I could never cheer for PS led by Franklin. Maybe if they were playing Duhbraska or Iowa State. Do you think PS fans would be rooting for Iowa to beat Notre Dame? I don't think most would. I detest both teams playing in the Orange Bowl, but Notre Dame's coach comes across as a decent guy and his team doesn't celebrate every first down, batted down pass or completed pass like the team that blew the game.
I don't care for either team in tonight's game, but hope Ohio State wins.

Yep, he should of never thrown that pick to set up ND game winning field goal!
Obviously a great call when:

#1 Allar had been missing guys all night
#2 There's under a minute left

This is aside from the facts that:
#1 PSU was running all over ND the entire night, and kept trying to get cute with stupid formations, motions, and play calls
#2 PSU threw two picks in the endzone (bailed out by Refs on both occasions)

Bailed out by refs - really?

Ferentz might have more top five wins against PSU than Franklin has against college football.
Many moons ago...

From 2008 to 2021, Iowa was 8-8 vs. top-10 teams and only one loss by more than 10 points.

Against its last 9 ranked foes, Iowa is 0-9. Average score: 34-9.

Kirk Ferentz has not beaten a team that finished the season ranked in any poll since November 16th, 2019, when he beat #10 Minnesota in Kinnick.

Loved the stupid timeouts for no reason at the end!

Glad he didn’t have 2 in his pocket to ice the kicker & play mind games if he will/wont call the 2nd TO before the kick.

Oh, it gave them like 3 more yards to make the kick closer as well! 🤣
I heard someone ask Nate Kaeding about timeouts to ice a kicker. He said it doesn't matter either way. You are so focused and follow your process. He said sometimes you are running out and the kick has to be so fast that timeouts can help you with alignment but either way it didn't make a difference.

Tended to agree with most of what you said... until this!!

Studies suggest that iced kickers make around 5-10% fewer field goals compared to non-iced attempts, depending on the kick distance

While that isn't a huge advantage, there is no reason not to attempt it.

We’re all aware, that doesn’t make your comparison any better. We get it, you don’t like Ferentz.

On top of that, Franklin is shitting the bed with top five talent.

How many posts did you make in the Gronowski threads being an absolute piss baby about how there was no way he’d ever come here?

Yeah, he’s a douchey slime ball, and a terrible in game coach, but his recruiting more than makes up for it.

…keep in mind, it’s the Iowa fan that thinks making the semis is a fireable offense. 😉
Yep. Big contrast between him and Freeman in the way of personality. Franklin might be Penn State’s version of John Cooper.

I was thoroughly impressed by how Notre Dame closed the game against Georgia. Freeman has a bright future ahead of him.

I only saw the second half of the game, but that PI in the end zone late was incontrovertible. Any time you face guard a receiver and make contact with him while he’s attempting to make a play on the football is 100/100 times PI.

You're right on that--it was still a horribly thrown ball off his back foot. Point is, DA kept putting the ball in ND's hands all night.

Yeah, he's among several that are pretty insufferable right now.

Ahh yes, Sparty 2010, hell I was there! The Halloween Sash to Hyde game, what a day! Simply put, there is one coach really doesn't like and never did and it was that class act Dantonio....letting a player out of jail to travel to Kinnick wasn't a good idea.

It's one of the few times I felt Iowa was indeed running up the score in the 4th q. But why ARob was still in game I'll never know..
