“I hope the right person was convicted.”

Izzo should have been shot on the spot for that comment after the Nassar trial.

Maybe not the same death penalty, but the PSU/MSU/Baylor/OSU situations really make me think the NCAA needs to seriously reconsider it's stand (or lack thereof) on the death penalty.

Covering up sexual assault/rape should end a program or athletic department (if multiple sports are involved). Not to mention teammates murdering each other (I see you again, Baylor).

There’s a major difference between an isolated incident in which every Iowa fan has disavowed the player and coach responsible vs. a cesspool culture of rape enabling that nary a Spartan soul bats an eye about.

This should not have had to have been explained to you.
I wish that were true about Alford but I’ve seen here by some that it’s not. I’m not defending the A hole about MSU or Izzo, just saying this as a bit of perspective that the God Fearing Alford was as guilty as anyone the way he treated the woman assaulted by Pierce. He was an Iowa coach and was as scummy as they come.. I’m very happy now with a coach that cares to do things better, win or lose and so far I’m happy with the winning we have , could he win more sure but winning isn’t everything, whether it’s a game or a recruit , though I’ve heard on this site Winning is the only thing and that’s just crap IMO. How you treat others in life seems much more important than winning a basketball game or a recruit. I’ ve said my piece . I hope you understand the meaning it was intended. I’m far from religious, but some things make lots of sense to me, like, Let he who is without sin blah blah you know the rest.
Oh and I do know several MSU fans that are disgusted and feel shame for what happened with Nasser , and others who looked the other way at their school as much as what happened at Iowa back then, and others that looked the other way then too.. All women deserve better.

Great post, but where are you seeing Iowa fans defending Steve Alford? I can’t think of a single Iowa fan who has a kind word to say about him. I’ve never seen it on this board, but I wasn’t on HR when Alford was here so you probably know better than I do.

I certainly don't condone what's happen at MSU.

But it seems that the Hawkeye fanbase in this thread is incredibly dense to not realize that there are people all across the country that view Iowa as a racist school. The Doyle debacle was national news at a time when there was very little sports news.

For people to assume that everyone at Iowa is like that is wrong. But nonetheless, people don't forget. Except perhaps Hawk fans

See Legend's post above. Izzo also was involved, and is part of the culture of violence against women.

Think rather than is. People can think Iowa is a racist school. We shall see how those proceedings go.
MSU ‘is’ a lot of those things. Significant difference. Is Doyle still at Iowa? My guess is if Brian is found to have an issue discipline will follow. MSU doesn’t appear to follow that approach.

I agree with you for the most part Cid. As I stated, it is wrong for people to assume that everyone at Iowa is racist.

I was just trying to enlighten the blind homers who can't seem to figure out how race and Iowa got into the same sentence.

We're on rivals, arguing with a poster from a different home school. What do you think they are going to end up saying about Iowa? It's not hard to figure out. What do you think we're going to say about MSU? What do people say about Penn St? What do people say about Baylor. What do people say about Florida? What do people say about Louisville? What do people say about LSU? What do people say about UNC? How about Arizona and Kansas? Etc, etc.........

When bringing up Doyle let us not forget he put 13 players in the hospital with one of his workouts and Iowa soon thereafter named him the assistant of the year in the football program.

I think Iowa fans would look at that situation differently if it happened at another school.
