I seen CBS sports had Jewell and Lanning on 1st team 2 out of 3 LBers from the state of Iowa is cool.
Seriously? Obviously the Lanning story from the OK game was beat to death nationally, but there's NO WAY that guy is a first team AA at LB. I almost feel sorry for the Outlaw to be picked by such idiots...I seen CBS sports had Jewell and Lanning on 1st team 2 out of 3 LBers from the state of Iowa is cool.
Heaven forbid that Lanning could be this good in 6 gamesSeriously? Obviously the Lanning story from the OK game was beat to death nationally, but there's NO WAY that guy is a first team AA at LB. I almost feel sorry for the Outlaw to be picked by such idiots...
My comment isn't that he's not a good player, and what he's done this year is both noteworthy and admirable. But he's NOT one of the three or four, or ten for that matter, best LB's in college football.Heaven forbid that Lanning could be this good in 6 games
Apparently there are many folks that disagree with youMy comment isn't that he's not a good player, and what he's done this year is both noteworthy and admirable. But he's NOT one of the three or four, or ten for that matter, best LB's in college football.
He's a feel good story right now, and good for him.Thanks. I never would have believed it. CBS just lost all credibility.

Thats what makes this so ridiculous. Had he not played some QB, and had ISU not won at OK, most of these voters would not know who the MLB at ISU is. Never heard of a guy being named 1st team AA because he did "a pretty good job".He's a feel good story right now, and good for him.
And he's actually been doing a pretty good job for them, but if he had not went in and thrown a couple passes during the Oklahoma upset, he would not be on this list.
Yeah, that might be correct if the media hadn't been covering the move from QB from the 1st practice this year. He had 20 tackles against Texas, and has made a big impact in every game.Thats what makes this so ridiculous. The Des Moines register maybe. Look its a neat feel good story. Guy looses starting QB job, says I'll play wherever you need me coach. With all the crap that goes on in college sports, its admirable and a feel good story. Kind of like the wave in Kinnick. I'll readily admit, I've watched him play against Iowa and thats it. He looked pretty decent, but not like an AA. I'm sure he's gotten more comfortable at LB since then. Just know there's some outstanding LB's in college football, and don't think he's one of the top three guys. Just IMHO though so..........Yeah, that might be correct if the media hadn't been covering the move from QB from the 1st practice this year. We really should forgive them for that. Its so rare they have a player in the running for, or actually win a national award. Its such out of the box thinking........Even clown fans should admit that it's weird to have a guy get recognition as an elite LB strictly because he played 8 snaps as a backup QB in one game.
