Joe Maddon orders an intentional walk with the bases loaded.

Who was up next? Seager hot today? I actually like the call if right pieces in place. Maybe Seager is batting 1.000 lifetime against the pitcher. This is how metrics have dictated the game.

Greatest managerial screw up of all time. Tommy Lasorda passes on walking Jack Clark, the Cards only power hitter, with 2 down in the 9th, tying run on third, go ahead on second and first base open. The rest is history. Don Denkinger and KC would go on to steal the '85 World Series and everyone knows it...

Hey, the Angels won the game so he either got lucky or he knew what he was doing.

Maddon is good as Angels manager.

Expectations are so low that he can't underachieve.

I saw another story on this, it said this was the second time he has intentionally walked someone with the bases loaded, and that his team ended up winning both games.

Strange strategy, but it appears to work

You do that with Barry Bonds up

You don't do that with Cory Seager up
Bonds at 57 is probably still better than 2/3 of todays players. He’d have to DH but he should still be good for .280 and 25 HR

Quick hook for Maddon. Girardi was canned this week, too.
